One thing I do know is when perryman played we looked much better on defense. We have needed steady LBers for so long. I say trade back and fill the defense with as much talent as you can get.Attyla » Sat Jan 14, 2023 3:31 pm
Trevor went to the Jags, one seriously fucked up organization with a douchebag as a coach.Jeremyturner1976 » Sat Jan 14, 2023 3:47 pm
The scales on that decision feels pretty even to me. Pick 1 was 6.7 million , pick 4 at 6 even, and pick 7 is 4.5.FLORIDARAYDAH wrote Sat Jan 14, 2023 3:23 pm:And he might get hurt or have a shitty year. He is going 1 or 2 he is coming out

He is going to a shitty team unless he totally flops like Leinart. And then he loses a ton of mo ney. Odds are right above zero that he doesn't come out this year.Jeremyturner1976 wrote Sat Jan 14, 2023 3:47 pm:The scales on that decision feels pretty even to me. Pick 8 goes to 4 and lower from there. That is a big risk from there out.
He will get paid more than round one pick one and play lesser competition, it also protects you if you bust out and don't get a second contract.
Then you add in the Texans...
Feels pretty 50/50 to me.

If you go to Walter Football, he says that this guy can play C too.raider_kin wrote Sat Jan 14, 2023 11:28 am:I don't like anyone who will be there at 7 either, unless someone falls, but I don't know how many times it has to be pointed out that Skoronski, with his short arms, is a guard, not a tackle. HesterLayes points it out that he will be a beast guard, but still a guard. Guards are available later. It looks like I am going to be hoping for us to trade back (a bit) in the first.

Okay. Seems reasonable.Attyla wrote Sat Jan 14, 2023 5:15 pm:let's all go to one site to decide who to draft without seeing one game he played in based on his position

that is exactly what you didIvanavich wrote Sat Jan 14, 2023 5:16 pm:Okay. Seems reasonable.

Yeah, I looked into it more and those are the starting rookie costs as the cap hit raises. Burrows will make I believe 36 million so that is closer to 9 million a year.FLORIDARAYDAH wrote Sat Jan 14, 2023 3:52 pm:He is going to a shitty team unless he totally flops like Leinart. Walter is not the only site that has Skoronski high.silver_ghost » Sat Jan 14, 2023 6:49 pm
There are two notes which were written by Bill Bellichick back in 1991 (one for offense another one for defense) on the kind of players he wants on his team. He has stayed true to those concepts & it has served him well. Ziegler being his disciple will do something quite similar. Those notes are there on youtube - look for Daniel Jeremiah Scout School. Suffice to say, we won't draft a player who is projected to be a guard in 1st round.Xramfan wrote Sat Jan 14, 2023 5:15 pm:I wouldn’t lose my shit if we go Skoronski at 7 if we are unable to trade down. At worst he proves to be a reliable road grader at OG for the next 10 years or so. We’ve done far worse with top 10 picks lol.

If he's only projected as a guard because of arm length then you may want to listen to the second half of this pod with Dante Scarnecchia, who talks about arm length and the guys they drafted despite having shorter that prototypical arm length. https://open.spotify.com/episode/6tLJWrssudp7VnelOufDOpsilver_ghost wrote Sat Jan 14, 2023 6:49 pm:There are two notes which were written by Bill Bellichick back in 1991 (one for offense another one for defense) on the kind of players he wants on his team.
