He was awful last season, maybe he just doesnt fit the new system.Lecomp wrote Mon May 01, 2023 1:38 am:Can't have enough good players.. Injuries happen in this league, I just can't see why people are looking to trade Ren.
Completely different skillset to Tre - the option of having a third down machine or a burner running out of the slot depending on situation is a huge asset.

Maybe, but my guess is the injuries did more harm than anything. I don't believe that one of the smartest football players on the team can't pick up a system in which similar players have had some serious success (Welker, Edelman, etc).rich72 wrote Mon May 01, 2023 2:49 am: He was awful last season, maybe he just doesnt fit the new system.

If we can get good trade value, I'd be happy to trade him. We wouldn't save a ton of cap space, but the trade value would be somewhat elevated because he wouldn't be a big cap hit to a destination team this year. I like Renfrow but his lack of versatility means he's WR3 on this team.Bram_Raider » Mon May 01, 2023 7:05 am
I love Hunter, but like Waller he missed a lot of last season.Tatum » Mon May 01, 2023 8:50 am
Foolish to cut? I agreeJRaider17 wrote Sun Apr 30, 2023 1:58 pm:The way his cap hit is currently, it would be foolish to cut/trade him this year.

He is one of my favorite Raider players, I think the concussion really damaged him more than people realize. If we can get something for him, like a 4th or 5th I would probably do it, but if not, I would figure out how to get Renfrow, Adams, Meyers, and Tucker on the field at once, You couldn't defend that, and then Jacobs would never have a stacked box.RunOverByHubbard » Mon May 01, 2023 9:52 am
I agree. Jimmy G's strong area is the area that Renfrow excels in -- that 10-20 yards past the LOS area. I think Josh Jacobs is going to have to up his receiving game. Jimmy is very adept at throwing to RBs on timing patterns (as opposed to panic throws by Carr).16 to 88 wrote Sun Apr 30, 2023 8:57 pm:He's staying. Garpollo is going to love him.

Definitely not cut. Traded, highly likely now. Unfortunately. I've like him a lot, but his injuries has him looking a bit punch drunk. May not be the same player anymore, sadly.Jeremyturner1976 » Mon May 01, 2023 10:47 am
Saw some pushback on this previously, but I still contend he has an issue holding onto ball.raiderkoch wrote Mon May 01, 2023 10:34 am:Definitely not cut. Traded, highly likely now. Unfortunately. Balt didn't pick up the 5th year option for P. Queen. Looks like it would have been 12.7M. He was rumored as a Renfro trade. I wonder if not picking up the option helps or hurts. He would be a 1 year rental then could be a FA....silver_ghost » Mon May 01, 2023 1:49 pm
Nobody wants an undersized LB. Trenton Simpson has the prototypical size 6' 3" - 240 lbs. I hope the Raiders look for backers who have similar size. We desperately need size. I hope people like Luke Masterson, Darius Butler & Curtis Bolton are gone. They are not even capable backups.Fade2SilverAndBlack wrote Mon May 01, 2023 1:13 pm:Balt didn't pick up the 5th year option for P. Queen. Looks like it would have been 12.7M. The F tag cost is 21M this season so there is no way the Raiders would F tag him in 24....
Had a good season... >>He started all 17 games and managed career-highs in tackles (117) – also a team-high – sacks (5), quarterback hits (14), interceptions (2), and passes defensed (6). Queen also forced a fumble and had two fumble recoveries. <<<
>>>The Ravens drafted linebacker Trenton Simpson in the third round on Friday night, prompting Queen to tweet “Sheesh,” appearing to recognize what the move signaled for his future in Baltimore.<<<<

Renfrow is A player that learned he needed to freelance to be successful at getting open, he couldn't succeed , as far as route running , and doing what Gruden was asking him to do . It makes sense that Renfro's style of play does not fit McDaniels type of timing and route requirements for his offense.. Renfro needs to rely on being clever and freelancing during the route based on The movement of the player covering him, this can often put him in a place on the field that can interfere with other routes, as the case last year when he interfered with Davante Adams route, that really pissed off everyone... Renfro needs an offense where he can be free to freelance on the field, McDaniels off fence isn't that type of scheme... But I do hope it's not a situation where we cut him, he should have pretty good value considering his great play .... we should be able to get a 3rd for him As long as teams don't think the Raiders are desperate to get rid of his contractchucker » Wed May 03, 2023 7:20 am
There's no way that Renfrow gets cut as there is almost no cap savings from cutting him. There's also not much cap savings from trading him, but there is trade compensation and he'd be worth more in a trade this year than after this year, because he's cheap to an acquiring team this year.silver_ghost » Wed May 03, 2023 8:54 am
Jimmy G will do well to establish great chemistry with Davante Adams. He has amazing riches of players to throw too. If he gets protection he should have a career year & eclipse his 2019 numbers easily.RunOverByHubbard wrote Mon May 01, 2023 9:52 am:I agree.
