It's that time of year: the return of "THE Coin"Willmark » Wed Aug 16, 2023 3:53 pm
The coin is a kin to a Magic 8-ball, I just asked that if we are going to the playoffs and it said: "As I see it, yes" so who knows.raiders93 wrote Wed Aug 16, 2023 3:27 pm:Are we sure the coin isn’t weighted unevenly or possibly a Raider fan?

It would certainly explain the sheer insanity that it produced.Attyla wrote Wed Aug 16, 2023 4:12 pm:do you soak that coin in booze all off season?

Also for reference, the coin's "results" (such as they were) last year.srv5490 » Wed Aug 16, 2023 6:42 pm
No, the coin flip is a random 50/50 proposition that may have small sample variances but will eventually settle out to an even distribution with larger samples. So, you used up all of our positive variance for the season with your little stunt and now we'll probably go 5-12 to even things out. Thanks.Willmark wrote Wed Aug 16, 2023 3:53 pm:The coin is a kin to a Magic 8-ball, I just asked that if we are going to the playoffs and it said: "As I see it, yes" so who knows.

All kidding aside I could actually see that happening in Week 1. Statistically, we're bound to lose one to them; divisional games and all.BigJerk wrote Wed Aug 16, 2023 6:39 pm:I'm Gunna need a recount of that week 1 "loss" to the Donks.
We'll be sending that one to NY for review.

You have described what is commonly know as the gambler’s dilemma or gambler’s fallacy/srv5490 wrote Wed Aug 16, 2023 6:42 pm:No, the coin flip is a random 50/50 proposition that may have small sample variances but will eventually settle out to an even distribution with larger samples. Are you trying to be serious in what is a very unserious thread?srv5490 wrote Wed Aug 16, 2023 6:42 pm:No, the coin flip is a random 50/50 proposition that may have small sample variances but will eventually settle out to an even distribution with larger samples.
