I've checked out some of the gas grills the past few and jesus fuck some those things are as big as a mid 70s Cadillac! They're tanks and definitely have about every option one could think of and the prices definitely reflect that!Sold My Soul wrote Fri Apr 14, 2023 7:01 pm:Coal does give off a distinct flavor. Reminds me of my camping days and smelling food and fire pits on the grounds.
Pellet companies now make pellets out of charcoal.
Gas grills are being an all in one cooking unit. Weber now has a grate/ griddle/ wok change out. With a sear zone for steaks.
Now just give us a wood chip tray .
30 days and counting.....

I was shopping around for a gas grill to do out doors (I eat a lot of steaks) when I saw commercials for the Ninja WoodFire Grill.Sold My Soul wrote Mon Apr 10, 2023 8:13 pm:You looking indoor or outdoor cooking?

try a combination of Apple and Cherry wood.Hellbound wrote Sun Apr 16, 2023 8:27 am:Oh yeah you can definitely tell the food takes on some flavor from the charcoal. That's one reason why I don't skimp on it. Throw on a wood chunk or two and you've got some great tasting food

I made a trip to big orange today to return a gallon of primer I didn't need and checked out their grilling section. Wow....Saw the Weber I'll be getting. 15 year warranty. It's built like a Caddy for damn sure. 1500 bucks and I'll be able to do everything on it.Hellbound wrote Sun Apr 16, 2023 8:32 am:I've checked out some of the gas grills the past few and jesus fuck some those things are as big as a mid 70s Cadillac! Yes. It would work indoors as well without the smoke function. If you want to cheat, marinate your steak in a good marinade and add a few drops of liquid smoke to the marinade. Let it go for a few hours to overnight and throw it on the stove in a cast iron fry pan. Let it get ripping hot and throw in for a few minutes each side.BigJerk wrote Sun Apr 16, 2023 5:10 pm:I was shopping around for a gas grill to do out doors (I eat a lot of steaks) when I saw commercials for the Ninja WoodFire Grill.
1st intent was to cook outside, with the wood pellet hopper you have too ...
Now I may be wrong, but since it's electric, If you Don't engage the WoodFire Pellet function, couldn't it be used indoors like a big olde George Foreman Grill?
And the Air fryer function has to be safe to use inside. ... rite?

If you have a balcony you can cook outside. I use to rent an apartment that had a fireplace. I got a smokey Joe jr and put it in the fireplace and grilled indoors . Smoke went up the chimney.
That Ninja is a nice unit for its versatility. Take it with you on a roadie also.

Especially anything Balsamic.

A Weber was all I used for 30 years myself. So versatile, you can do a lot on themHellbound wrote Tue Apr 11, 2023 8:51 pm:Meat Church and Heath Riles have some damn good recipes
Maybe I'm stubborn but I'll always have my trusty Weber kettle. Tried gas and hated it. Pellet grills are ok. Kettles are just so versatile and been my go to for 30+ yrs
