since Carr needs to waive his no trade, I think there is a possibility that he could get traded and then they redo a deal? chucker might have a better handle on that then me.signal wrote Fri Jan 27, 2023 8:32 am:I think Carr simply gets released. His contract is not anywhere in line with his production. The trade needed to happen last year. Timing matters.
If Z plays his cards right, it will be addition by subtraction.

Stock value peaked after the 2016 season but all it takes is the right buyer at the right timesignal wrote Fri Jan 27, 2023 8:32 am:I think Carr simply gets released. His contract is not anywhere in line with his production. The trade needed to happen last year. Timing matters.

Come on Colts! Give the Raiders two 1st, a 2nd and a 3rd. All you need is a vet QB that can step in and take you to the distance!

The only way he gets traded is if there are more than simply one buyer, there needs to be at least two. The only way he gets traded is if there are two teams vying for his services and a team believes that the best chance of getting Carr is to trade outright for him leaving the other team out in the cold.Xramfan wrote Fri Jan 27, 2023 8:40 am:Stock value peaked after the 2016 season but all it takes is the right buyer at the right time

There was and even bigger peak IMO after the 2020 season.Xramfan wrote Fri Jan 27, 2023 8:40 am:Stock value peaked after the 2016 season but all it takes is the right buyer at the right time

Insiders say he’s expected to be traded so I’m hanging my hat on that until it happens or it doesn’t.Attyla » Fri Jan 27, 2023 9:46 am
all indications is there is about 5 teams right now in the mix.live.B.A.raida wrote Fri Jan 27, 2023 9:36 am:Insiders say he’s expected to be traded so I’m hanging my hat on that until it happens or it doesn’t.

I’m not an insider, but I would say Carolina and New Orleans will be the top two suitors..for different reasonsAttyla wrote Fri Jan 27, 2023 9:46 am:all indications is there is about 5 teams right now in the mix.

It’s entirely possible you’re right. But I also think there’s maybe an under-estimation of the demand and an over-appreciation of how much teams value draft capital.signal wrote Fri Jan 27, 2023 8:59 am:The only way he gets traded is if there are more than simply one buyer, there needs to be at least two. But I honestly believe given his present contract, that most teams will simply sit back and wait and compete on the open market. Then sign him losing no draft capital and on a contract that is more in line with his production. And if they lose out, so be it, there are other options in the free agency this year.
I for one will not be surprised one bit that after the SB, the Raiders release Carr with a statement that simply indicates that there were no teams seriously interested in trading for Carr and that they have decided to part ways with the player before his salary kicked in.

I agree. Likely the only two Derek would consider. If I had to guess, Carolina. Better o-line. Besides, their name is the "Saints" but there ain't no Saints in Nawlins.HesterLayes wrote Fri Jan 27, 2023 9:52 am:I’m not an insider, but I would say Carolina and New Orleans will be the top two suitors..for different reasons

Jets fans are loopy about Rodgers now with the hiring of Hackett. The oddsmakers may be right, but I don't see Derek going there at all. Bad offense, few weapons, and, well... all the meanies in NYC.Attyla wrote Fri Jan 27, 2023 9:56 am:Jets are the tops according to the oddsmakers.
but both of your choices are in the mix. Washington, Tennessee round out the top five.
