Ivan says that Jacobs will get traded in 2022.HesterLayes » Wed Aug 10, 2022 3:10 pm
How can he get traded in 2023 when he will be a free agent?Ivanavich wrote Wed Aug 10, 2022 2:50 pm:Ivan says that Jacobs will get traded in 2022.
I asked myself-- is Jacobs going to win the Raiders any playoff games as the starting HB getting 20 attempts at touches in games?
My answer is -- no. No playoff wins with Jacobs as the starter. In the playoffs, the HB has to be able to break tackles and get 1st downs and TDs. Jacobs can be covered by a LB. When the opponent's defense takes away one WR, as is the typical strategy, Jacobs won't be able to punish the defense in the passing game.
Jacobs can get 1,000 yards, if healthy. He's competent as a runner. He can pass block competently. Unfortunately, in the playoffs, that usually isn't enough.
Jacobs is going to get traded for a 4th round pick in 2023. as that is his projected comp value, IMO. I am not employed by the Raiders in any capacity. You can say that you read it here first.

We keep bringing in running backs to workout. Jacobs has more value than the Drake. I would prefer the Drake get traded but I doubt we can find a taker.Attyla » Wed Aug 10, 2022 3:18 pm
and that was not the only error in his post. He has contradicted himself multiple times in this thread. But he also said Massachusetts is one of the top taxed states in the US and that was wrong as well.HesterLayes wrote Wed Aug 10, 2022 3:10 pm:How can he get traded in 2023 when he will be a free agent?

I’m all for letting him walk if he demands big money. However, if we let him walk for chump change I’ll be pissed.Attyla » Wed Aug 10, 2022 3:24 pm
if he plays this year for us, and he will, he will walk and we will get around a 6th comp pick.BoJacksonRules wrote Wed Aug 10, 2022 3:20 pm:I’m all for letting him walk if he demands big money. However, if we let him walk for chump change I’ll be pissed.

Keep. He was the offensive leader and stepped up when needed at the end of the year. He's good all-around, that's important.Attyla wrote Wed Aug 10, 2022 3:24 pm:if he plays this year for us, and he will, he will walk and we will get around a 6th comp pick.

Yes I’m tracking and he’s under contract for this year. But we can still sign him to a new contract for next year if he agrees to the terms. I’m just worried we won’t re-sign him and he’ll sign with another team on a reasonable contract.Attyla wrote Wed Aug 10, 2022 3:24 pm:if he plays this year for us, and he will, he will walk and we will get around a 6th comp pick.

possible, probable. Our cap space in 2023 at this time is not favorable to signing a RB to a big contract or even a reasonable contract.BoJacksonRules wrote Wed Aug 10, 2022 3:49 pm:Yes I’m tracking and he’s under contract for this year. I anticipate us being a player in the 3rd round range replacement for our RB1

I’m pretty sure he meant a 2023 4th round pick. But you never know …HesterLayes wrote Wed Aug 10, 2022 3:10 pm:How can he get traded in 2023 when he will be a free agent?
