I like benching Car now to learn what Stidham can do for 6 or 7 games this season.BoJacksonRules wrote Fri Nov 25, 2022 7:16 am:Our bridge QBs are already in the building and they know the offense. Draft a QB in 23! If our guy isn’t there early pick BPA and draft one in the mid to late rounds. Grayson McCall anyone?

Agreed, need to see if he’s worth keeping as our short term solution while we start the process of finding our guy. No way we do it until we’re sitting at 10 losses or are formally eliminated.Archaic wrote Fri Nov 25, 2022 7:35 am:I like benching Car now to learn what Stidham can do for 6 or 7 games this season.

I'd absolutely love this. Spend later picks on Penix and DTR and just let them battle it out in camp.BoJacksonRules wrote Thu Nov 24, 2022 1:02 pm:Roll with Stidham and Garbers and draft QBs and turn over every rock until you find one, and don’t reach or overpay for anyone

I'm well aware of the importance of the salary cap. I also know that teams have been in much worse situations and were still able to "field a team". What will the Saints do (again) next year? They have 8 guys more than we do under contract but are expected to be more than $63 million over the cap. Actually, there's 23 teams that have less cap space then us. Sure they all have more players signed than we do (the majority in between 32-43 range and we're at 31) but there have been MUCH MUCH MUCH worse situations than what we're in.BoJacksonRules wrote Wed Nov 23, 2022 9:24 am:First, what an insulting thing to say to someone as your insert yourself into another conversation. Back on topic: Go look at players under contract for next year, then look at the salary cap, next add contracts for rookie draft class and you’ll see what I’m talking about. You will see how dire the cap situation is.

Ok, but half the team won’t be under contract next season. Of course we will field a team, but unless we cut some players or re-work their contracts it will be mostly vet minimums and a healthy dose of UDFAs. Carr & Adams contracts alone are killers. I played around with the cap/FA simulator (I think it was on Spotrac). The only way anything worked out was to ditch Carr’s contract.Sir Raider Duck, OMS » Fri Nov 25, 2022 11:49 am
At the time, Manning was considered a high floor/low ceiling guy, and Leaf was the opposite (low floor/high ceiling). San Diego specifically said they preferred Leaf but would "settle" for Manning if the Colts picked Leaf #1.Hellbound wrote Thu Nov 24, 2022 4:44 am:Correct. Though he was highly thought of as a prospect, he wasn't a can"t miss guy, and there was an actual Manning/Leaf question of who should go first

I truly hope they ditch his contract but I doubt they will. They'll probably restructure a few guys. Also the fact that they turned down a 2 from GB at the deadline for Waller makes me think that he's still in the future plans. I think they'll restructure a few deals and everything will be fine. I also wouldn't be surprised if they're players in free agency.BoJacksonRules wrote Fri Nov 25, 2022 9:01 am:Ok, but half the team won’t be under contract next season. I guess that’s why they make the big bucks, I couldn’t make shit work on the calculator/simulator without dumping Carr and a few others.16 to 88 » Fri Nov 25, 2022 9:30 pm
Pretty safe to say McDaniels already knows what he has in Stidham.BoJacksonRules wrote Fri Nov 25, 2022 7:59 am:Agreed, need to see if he’s worth keeping as our short term solution while we start the process of finding our guy. I continue to wonder why you believe that Z is going to sign a bunch of FAs.BoJacksonRules wrote Fri Nov 25, 2022 9:01 am:Ok, but half the team won’t be under contract next season. Didn’t see the game but looked like Stroud put up decent numbers.ALLRAIDERWORLD21 » Sat Nov 26, 2022 12:59 pm
Well, that's a no on CJ Stroud for me. Had forever in the pocket vs Michigan. Instead of moving around in the pocket and creating a play or even running, he just crumbles. I would not waiste a 1st round pick on this guy.Atlasffa » Sat Nov 26, 2022 1:01 pm
Not his best game. I'm starting to think patience, and waiting until 2024 might be the way to go, especially if JJ McCarthy declares for the draft early. That kid has the "it" factor.HesterLayes wrote Sat Nov 26, 2022 12:45 pm:Didn’t see the game but looked like Stroud put up decent numbers.
Any thoughts on his game?
