Im not sure about a trade up or down, I am however thinking that people wanting a qb in the first are going to be disappointedJeevo wrote Mon Mar 20, 2023 8:42 pm:I've changed from thinking we trade up to 3 to select a QB to thinking we trade down to 15-25 and take one there.

If i’m looking on day 3 for guys who have upside then my list would be the following:-Atlasffa » Tue Mar 21, 2023 12:29 pm
Here's a thread with more info about VanSumeren. He's an intriguing prospect and may start showing up on some draft boards in the later rounds.Dark Horse » Tue Mar 21, 2023 12:33 pm
I mentioned how Will Levis reminds me of Jake Locker. This kid reminds me of his equally infamous draft class mate, Christian Ponder.BluegrassRaider wrote Mon Mar 20, 2023 8:26 pm:Agreed.
Only displays zip in the middle of the field or directly in front of him when he moves out of the pocket.
No deep ball, no outs. Suspect wide receiver screens may hang too long. Tight windows seem off the menu.
Can miss really badly on occasion but often puts it right on the hands in stride.
Too bad because he shows a lot of touch, toughness, mobility in and out of the pocket, and scrambling ability which would have to translate or he takes a huge hit.
Very decent wheels and nice instincts so that would probably carry over but if it doesn't somehow he becomes very pedestrian to just trash.
Backup to my eyes and how good of one depends on the brains to learn playbooks but the arm talent feels like a middle of the road one is the ceiling.

Ben VanSumeren is not a guy I looked into and barely knew of his existence. He is obviously and athletic freak of the highest and that could translate. My concern is that as a 4 year player, why haven't we heard more from him? Yeah, he came to Michigan as a RB, but switched to LB. As a 250+ lbs LB, he transferred- WHY? You would think Harbaugh would love a guy like this. Did he develop true LB instincts?16 to 88 » Tue Mar 21, 2023 3:58 pm

Maybe he didn't love Harbaugh back? He didn't draw attention because he was on a losing team in the Big 10. Media loves UM, OSU and SEC. Even when MSU is having a great year, it doesn't garner much media attention so players like him fly under the radar.Dark Horse wrote Tue Mar 21, 2023 12:43 pm:Ben VanSumeren is not a guy I looked into and barely knew of his existence. IMO, he has mid-round talent but yeah, he'll probably go late round. Potential for a real steal.16 to 88 wrote Tue Mar 21, 2023 3:58 pm:Thanks Atlasffa.

For blind shots in the dark... not too bad. Pick #141 made it look bad. And how about those starting LBs rated #334 and #331? Ivan got the eye.Ivanavich wrote Tue Mar 21, 2023 3:06 am:Ivan use mock draft simulator

Maybe, but usually if you are a really good player on a bad team, you still get talked about. I'd take him in the 5th round.Atlasffa wrote Tue Mar 21, 2023 6:45 pm:Maybe he didn't love Harbaugh back? Are you f☆cking kidding me? The first two picks are on offense and the pick is a RB. Oh wait, I forgot about your unwarranted disdain for Jacobs. "Jacobs isn't the RB for Carr."Ivanavich wrote Wed Mar 22, 2023 5:07 am:For blind shots in the dark... not too bad. Pick #141 made it look bad. And how about those starting LBs rated #334 and #331? The actual lesson here is that mock drafting is no more useful than gossiping. With 12 picks... why not draft 3 QBs?
