You must work indoors in a cubicle.Raider727 wrote Tue Mar 21, 2023 12:13 pm:I've lived in the the bay area, Ca all my life. When people here complain about the weather it's because they're spoiled. As long as it doesn't rain when Cleveland plays the A's at the coliseum in April, I ain't trippin. So it better rain like crazy the rest of the month, so it will be dry by the time baseball season starts.

You could have just typed ,”waaahhhh!!!” and saved us all a little eye strainGUYDON wrote Tue Mar 21, 2023 10:26 am:Im just in a bitchass mood right now. First I live in Orange County and it has been cold and rainy for 3 damn months. Im paying PREMIUM prices to live in great weather, and Im getting Seattle.
Next, I wanted to go for it this season. I saw a path to Rodgers and several guys that could have helped the defense (wagner and others) to give us an actual shot at winning THIS year. Would I sacrifice the future to have a shot at a super bowl for a couple seasons? You God damn right I would.
After 20 years of pure trash and "building" I have no confidence anyone can build this team. Its a crap shoot. At least getting proven players at key positions, gives you a shot.
I will eventually accept the raiders arent going to be good this season, and settle in to my well worn losing chair.
But we had a shot. Adding Rodgers to this offense, and selling the house to get some good defensive players would have got us big wins, no doubt in my mind. But instead we will settle for wait and see as usual.
Our stars will be one year older this time next season. And a year older than that the next season while we wait for these mythical good draftees to develop.
Im just trying to get my mind around another losing season while our stadium looks like an away game because the apathy around this team is so high.

As I've said, draft well for 3 years and you have the core of your team on rookie deals. It will take time; patience young padawan, we'll get there. Just not this year.BigJerk wrote Wed Mar 22, 2023 7:03 am:Just seems we're signing an awful lot of them.
What kind of continuity can you have if half the team are 1 year journeymen?
At first I thought the mindset was a push to set us up for a big run in 24 ... But if you have to replace 2 dozen (or more) guys every year?
It's one crapshoot after another. It's spinning a roulette wheel (welcome to Las Vegas, enjoy your 11 month stay).
You got to center on smart incentive ladden long term deals that have option to trade or waive underperforming guys.
And once the base squad is strong you can gamble on a couple star FAs to drop the finishing touches .... Go All In to use the local vernacular.
This draft is Crucial to get right ... Next year will be icing on the cupcake.

Its probably part of the big picture plan for the new regime.rich72 wrote Mon Mar 20, 2023 6:51 pm:It seems like 1 thing they are doing is replacing average or better players with just average or better players that they themselves brought in. Maybe there were issues after the carr thing and any remnants of the cancer need to be cut out and replaced with healthy cells. Obviously they cant get rid of the stars yet, but they can get rid of any average player and replace them easily enough. Thats really the only thing that makes sense to me honestly.
They could also be just getting rid of guys they didnt write the contract for as well to get the numbers where they want them, thats also a possibility, stictly financial.

not many raider coaches make 3 years...and then we clean house babyraider_kin wrote Wed Mar 22, 2023 7:23 am:As I've said, draft well for 3 years and you have the core of your team on rookie deals. It will take time; patience young padawan, we'll get there. Just not this year.

Agreed, and exactly why I'm willing to be patient with the new regime.KillerRaider30 wrote Wed Mar 22, 2023 7:46 am:Its probably part of the big picture plan for the new regime.
The 2 longest tenure HCs over the past 10 years were JDR and Gruden and both had teams that made the playoffs. To bad they didn't last long enough to see if they could have improved those teams.
The pats won alot of games because they keep their HC in place resulting in their players really knowing what they're doing.
Unlike the sad story of the Raiders who, since 2000, have changed head coaches on average of 1.9 years.
That's why we suck.
Ain't no one gonna change my mind.
Yell at the players all you want and for some, rightfully so, but imo most of this shit show is caused by a change in command; resulting in a change at assistants and a change in players along with a change in concepts and so on.
This equation = Losers

JDR went 6-10 in 2017 because Carr went limp. And this happened with him bringing back the same personnel. This just goes to show what a Cancer Carr was.KillerRaider30 wrote Wed Mar 22, 2023 7:46 am:Its probably part of the big picture plan for the new regime.

Who knows with this regime?JRaider17 wrote Mon Mar 20, 2023 7:29 pm:True, but why are we seemingly plugging "holes" and "depth" on offense (which we have already invested a lot in) and not really on defense?
Raidernation1979 » Wed Mar 22, 2023 8:57 am
You’re taking an organizational transformation. Both business and football side. The first year of this regime seems like an attempt to “run it back” but also figure out who fits the culture and work ethic they are looking for. Now it appears they are molding that into more players who fit the culture/work ethic. Hopefully you have enough vets to fit it that the rooks who come in gebrally mold right into itWolfRaider » Wed Mar 22, 2023 9:00 am
