Only thing I got to say about this situation is what exactly is the problem? If Adams still wants Carr as his QB he's fucking trippin!KillerRaider30 » Thu Jun 01, 2023 4:32 am

the only question there is health. and we did improve the back up positionKillerRaider30 wrote Thu Jun 01, 2023 4:32 am:The offense is not solid
-Questions at QB, the most important position in all sports
I do not see this as a question. If he is on the team he will play well-Questions at RB, Jacobs is pissed
We actually returned most of the line from last year that did not play badly at all-Questions at oline, inexperienced and or new but the 2nd best of the bunch
the starter last year was mostly MIA, the back up who started was decent. We actually drafted a well rounded player at the position. TE is one of those positions where a college guy can transition to the NFL pretty easily.-Questions at TE, all new and a rookie
Renfrow is coming off an injured season. His play in the two games before the concussion were largely a product of some sloppy QB play. I am actually waiting for the trade announcement though. As for the rest of the WR group, it is a solid lineup.-Queations at WR, best of the bunch but outside Adams idk. They rely on QB and they are new or young so if Adams is traded then we're shot. And renfrow, forgot him but he's coming off a bad season so.
Brady is a nonfactor. He has not even been approved yet by the owners. Once he is, his presence will not create drama. I suspect just the opposite. As for fans wanting McDaniels gone? There is a pretty good sized group that already do. I honestly don't give a fuck what the fanbase wants. They have no say in the matter, so let them bitch. And I do see the defense getting somewhat better. The bad defense is on Gruden, not McDaniels. McDaniels inherited a shit storm. Zeigler was not going to be able to fix it in one off season. But he did get some pieces this off season. LB is going to hurt but there are pieces out there that I like. All this opposite the Raider defense, the fan base wanting McDaniels head by mid season and the Tom Brady owner drama =
2 wins maybe less.

Very well said, and I agree. However, while building a defense and seeking that true franchise QB, I would have rather given Stidham a 2 year $10 million deal and told him that you're the guy in 2023. Build the rest of the roster and if Stidham isn't that guy, draft that guy in 2024 with the roster that you've built.Raider727 wrote Wed May 31, 2023 9:53 pm:Only thing I got to say about this situation is what exactly is the problem? The Raiders didn't have a high enough pick to draft one of the top QB's in the draft and would have had to trade a high pick to move up. And that would mean that the Raiders would lose top picks for the consecutive year because they traded their 1st and 2nd round pick the year before for his ass.
The offense imo looks very solid apart from the QB situation. Jimmy G was the top QB available in free agency, apart from Rodgers but again you would have to trade picks to get him.
I wanted Rodgers and didn't want Jimmy but I understand if they are going to want to build from the ground up, a stop gap QB would be better for the rebuild.
They tried to build on the 2021 playoff team but it didn't work because the 3 players that got paid(Carr, Waller, Renfrow), couldn't stay healthy or completely plaid like shit.
All this offense talk isn't working for me because I want the Raiders to build a defense, while they seek a true franchise QB that can compete with Mahomes, Allen and Burrow. Until then this team ain't getting close to the Lombardi and that's all that matters.
Only thing I can think that would make sense is the Adams was all-pro last season again and what he's getting paid this season is a steal for his talent. But you also have to include what the Raiders gave up last year with their 2 top picks to even get him.
Adams just needs to worry about his craft and ride this out because he agreed to the trade and contract and he also has a fan base that will ride and die for their great players and he will be appreciated even after he's gone.
Either way I don't think Adams will bust a Antonio Brown or Randy Moss, because his head is very professional and I don't think he will let his emotions affect his play on the field....

I wanted to keep Stidham because he has potential to have more upside being younger and more athletic than jimmy G and would have been cheaper as well, so we are on the same page.Ismail86 wrote Thu Jun 01, 2023 11:26 am:Very well said, and I agree. Here's an excerpt from an article in The Athletic that gives context to many of the tweets and other articles that quoted DA.Link to complete article for subscribers: https://theathletic.com/4553347/2023/05 ... ders-otas/HENDERSON, Nev. — Davante Adams isn’t going anywhere. After the receiver expressed discontent about the direction the Raiders were headed in an interview with The Ringer, there was mass hysteria about whether his time with the Raiders could be coming to a close.
In reality, there was no cataclysmic divide among Adams, general manager Dave Ziegler and coach Josh McDaniels. The Raiders have given zero consideration to moving on from Adams and he hasn’t asked out at any point, according to a league source.
“I’ve never been encouraged to speak up and share my feelings with the organization the way I have with these two guys,” Adams said Thursday as the Raiders held their first OTA practice of the season that was open to the media. “And, obviously, sometimes things get said and taken out of context, but it’s never my intention to bring any type of negative attention or throw off the focus of the team or whatever, which did not happen, by the way. We got a lot of guys in here that know me well by this point and know my intentions and know I just want to win.
“The thing is with me — and I’m unapologetically me — at the end of the day, I truly do not care what people have to say. So, when I’m clearing things up and talking about this stuff, a lot of times it’s just me protecting other people that were involved. Like, I don’t ever want Jimmy (Garoppolo) to feel a way or think that I didn’t want him here or I don’t like him. Or I post a picture with Zieg and they’re like, ‘Oh, is it Josh? That must be the real problem.’ So, y’all can do that. If you’re that bored, go play Monopoly or some s—.”
McDaniels said Thursday that he and Ziegler have great relationships with Adams. They’ve gotten feedback from Adams throughout the offseason and remain open to receiving it whether it’s positive or not.
“It’s not really my concern that anybody necessarily adopts every vision that Dave or I have for the decisions that we have to make. Sometimes those are difficult,” McDaniels said. “The thing I’d say about a player like Davante — and we have many other players in the same category — is they have an opinion and a voice because they’ve earned it.
“And I respect the hell out of anything that they would say or suggest or anything like that during the course of the process of trying to improve our team. I know where Davante comes from. He’s a competitor, he wants to win, and that’s really his sole focus. And that’s what he does here every day. He’s here pushing himself, pushing his teammates. He’s been a tremendous leader again this spring for our football team.”
To be clear, though, the Raiders’ offseason didn’t play out the way Adams wanted, namely at quarterback. He openly advocated for the Raiders to acquire former Packers teammate Aaron Rodgers. And while league sources told The Athletic the Raiders made inquiries about Rodgers’ availability, a deal didn’t materialize and he was ultimately traded to the Jets. Adams wasn’t pleased with that outcome, but that doesn’t mean he wants out.
“At the end of the day, there’s going to be opinions and you’re not always going to see the exact same way,” Adams said. “Going into the operation this offseason, obviously, I poked fun at having Aaron here a lot. And why would I not talk about having the best quarterback to play the game and a guy who I have a lot of history with? That’s who I had on my mind initially. That was never a slight at Jimmy; I didn’t even know we were pursuing Jimmy, so it had nothing to do with any of that. … I told you guys right after the Derek thing that I was here to stay, and I wasn’t going anywhere.
“At the end of the day, I’m a Raider and I’m excited to be here. I love my head coach and I love the general manager here and everybody from the top to the bottom. I have no reason to lie. I mean, one thing I don’t do is BS, so I’m not going to make anything up when it comes to that. I’d rather keep my mouth closed if I have negative things to say, but when I say that these are some good men in this place and that I really value the relationship I have with them, I mean that.”
Adams said that the biggest thing he learned from his first year with the Raiders was the value of patience, which he may need a lot more of depending on the health status of Garoppolo. Garoppolo has not been on the field for this week’s OTAs after having surgery on his left foot in March. The timeline for his recovery is unknown and McDaniels said he could be out until training camp, but the Raiders are optimistic that he’ll be ready to go for the start of the regular season.
“Everything that’s happened since we signed Jimmy, we knew ahead of time,” McDaniels said. “Our preference is to not push and rush anybody back at this point in time.”

Oh, and if Garappolo plays, we get more than 2 wins. Your post on this issuee as well as the the QB position, receiver position and Josh Jacobs is ridiculous. I think 7 is about right.

I'm not so sure that's true. Adams is vocal and they seem to love him!Sold My Soul wrote Fri Jun 02, 2023 7:25 pm:Lil hood wants no input from his players and will not tolerate the malcontent.
That's why the vocal are no longer here.
DC..Waller, and soon to be Renfro and DA , and without question JJ by 2024 if not before.
The grand experiment plays on.

DA is the Alpha. He carries a lot of street cred. Players listen when he speaks. If he questions the direction of the team, there is no way they will keep him around.raiderkoch wrote Fri Jun 02, 2023 8:49 pm:I'm not so sure that's true. Adams is vocal and they seem to love him!
