Yeah that big number was with about 20 roster spots to fill. It goes fast.CWood24 wrote Sat Jun 03, 2023 2:09 pm:I mean we never had that much cap space in the first place considering how many spaces we had to fill on the roster
The number that was banded around look huge but in reality we were never gonna be big FA players

Thats sad. And there are a few who wanted Aaron Rodgers. We would have been able to fit him under the cap but have to pay him for years after he retired. All for the thrill of maybe 9 wins with himRaider727 wrote Sun Jun 04, 2023 8:49 am:$30 million in dead cap .

A lot of that money was spent on yellow lettering.crowbar wrote Fri Jun 02, 2023 1:13 pm:We trimmed a little fat in the off season (Carr & Waller ETC) & I could have sworn that I read that we had over 20 million in the off season.
I just read that we have 3 million in cap space.
What's up?

You're probably right, but that's saying he retires after just one season. On the contrary making a Superbowl run for at least 2 years, it would have been worth it. Nothing is guaranteed and not winning a playoff game in 20 years is getting old.FLORIDARAYDAH wrote Sun Jun 04, 2023 6:33 pm:Thats sad. And there are a few who wanted Aaron Rodgers. I think he has some left in the tank. Just that it would have been an Al move for us to get him. He has 60 million guaranteed and it might have given us a 9 win non playoff season vs 6 win non playoff season. To fit him this year most of his cap was pushed down the road. If we were close enough to compete with him I think they would have pursued him. That's not even counting the draft capital to get himRaider727 wrote Tue Jun 06, 2023 5:25 am:You're probably right, but that's saying he retires after just one season. I'm over not trading for Rodgers, but I think the jets have a better chance at making a Superbowl run with Rodgers, then the Raiders have at even making a sniff at the playoffs without him. Yeah the Jets have a defense, but Rodgers would have had a better offensive supporting cast with the Raiders.
Hope I'm wrong though, but I still think Rodgers has more in the tank still and we will soon find out.
