not an interim who was previously a defensive position coach and would not have known the offensive playbook. You are being truly obtuse on this. Context is your friend and you are not paying attention to the circumstances.crowbar wrote Fri Mar 29, 2024 7:41 pm:Gotcha, the Head Coach will never tell the OC what to do or what he wants.

It did and good first post. Welcome from the other side of the pond.Loftyraider wrote Sat Mar 30, 2024 2:26 am:Hey…first post from a Raiders fan across the pond!
Just reading through these last posts and IMO there’s a lot of truth across all of them. For me, last season as interim he will have had little input into offensive strategy up into the point he gets to interim HC. Of course he would naturally then fall into where he’s most comfortable (defense) and will very much rely on offensive co-ordinators. He also he obviously saw a dysfunctional locker room and would have poured a huge amount of energy into fixing that. But that “good vibe” thing will only last so long.
So now as official HC, no doubt he will be fully accountable for everything; and hopefully at very least is providing strategic direction for Getsy et al on offense for them to carry out at a more detailed level. But AP is still accountable for the success (or otherwise) of that offense…as well as defense, special teams, locker room etc etc.
Hope that made some sort of sense!

Different HCs have different responsibilities. Fat Andy runs is more of a captain of the ship where as AP is Julie the activities director.Loftyraider wrote Sat Mar 30, 2024 2:26 am:Hey…first post from a Raiders fan across the pond!

Edited your post a little ;)Opoponax50 wrote Fri Mar 29, 2024 10:54 pm:Mark Davis walks into AP's office and asks him, "What's going on with the offense?" AP looks back at him and tilts his head back and yells "RAAAAAAAIIIIIIDERRRRRRRRRS".
I'll reiterate what I said earlier in this thread: the HC is responsible for everything that happens on the field.

In the late in 70s or early 80s, the Raiders were the most winningest franchise in all of sports.crowbar » Thu Apr 04, 2024 3:07 pm

The last 20s years or so have really taken a toll on the Raider's standing among NFL teams.434413797_952537480211108_8791940122181933256_n.jpg
Here's to hoping that the hire of AP finally gets this ship turned in the right direction and they become that team again no one wants to play.

Yep and multiple reasons why. Hope Antonio and company can turn things around. Not sure that it counts? But it states during the Super Bowl era, well, not all those teams have been around the entire Super Bowl era...signal wrote Thu Apr 04, 2024 9:08 am:In the late in 70s or early 80s, the Raiders were the most winningest franchise in all of sports.
