It was pre-ordained that we would beat the Donkeys in that game. Our coach was playing chess while theirs was screaming at their rb3 about something that didn’t really matter.Sold My Soul wrote Tue Mar 26, 2024 4:01 pm:Ain't nobody more glad than donk fan that the Raiders beat them in a meaningless game. Denver drafts Nix.
Not to worry though....we got the Gardner.

You are talking as if the Raiders can't move up and draft a QB before Denver.Jeevo wrote Wed Mar 27, 2024 5:00 pm:It was pre-ordained that we would beat the Donkeys in that game. Our coach was playing chess while theirs was screaming at their rb3 about something that didn’t really matter.

A ton of mocks have us taking either Taliese Fuaga (OT) or Quinyon Mitchell (CB). I am good with either one if we are unsure if Nix or Penix is the real deal.Jeevo » Thu Mar 28, 2024 8:15 pm

New GMs usually keep some of the old guys but usually hire a few of their own. They kept Barnett from Zeigler's staff, and also Yeargan. McGill is also a hold over, so the top spots were retained. We kept Champ too, I think that is a big one and probably a Turnip decision to keep the coach happy.rich72 wrote Fri Mar 29, 2024 1:05 am:Did Telesco bring his own scouting team with him?

Raiders went into this offseason with some major holes. TT addressed the DL in a big way by adding an elite DT and bringing back two solid contributors.Attyla » Fri Mar 29, 2024 5:29 am
Last I checked, Connor Williams is out there. I have eyed him a bit and he is solid. Becton to me is worth a look for depth. There are a few we will get a look at when roster cuts happen.signal wrote Fri Mar 29, 2024 5:16 am:Raiders went into this offseason with some major holes. But the OL was to me, an equally weak spot that needed to be addressed. They are now weaker than they were at the beginning of the process given they have lost players and have added none.
What advantage is there if our DL is highly disruptive because it is very good, if our OL is so bad that it makes every other opponents' DL look as good in games?
The OL is the engine of the offense. It won't matter one bit who the Raiders have at RB or QB if the OL cannot get its job done.
While the focus has been on what QB must the Raiders acquire in this upcoming draft, I think it more important that TT address the OL and do it in a serious fashion.
Correct me if I am wrong, but don't see much out there in free agency. I do know that more players will be available late but damn, that does sound like much of a plan. Teams don't usually get rid of viable OL late, but I guess it can happen, but would not want to count on it.
If TT is planning on addressing the OL in the draft (because it does have one of the better hit/miss ratios among all positions in drafts) than frankly I think he has to use two of the first three picks at the position and possibly go again with one late. The OL needs a major influx of talent and would say that the talent must be ready to play at the NFL level day one.
I am excited about what TT has done in regards to the DL and am really hoping that before September I am feeling the same way about the OL. I am really hoping that the trenches get addressed in a big way because I know it ain't sexy or flashy but I still believe even in today's NFL that many games are won and lost in the trenches.

The OL is a HUGE need. Losing players, no depth, and limited talent. Also, losing Bricillo was a big loss (in my mind anyways). He clearly had the OL over performing as a unit. Unfortunately, I'm really not in love with any of the top guys. I think we would be better served trading down and let some other team overpay for an OT (sorry about being repetitive). I would feel so much better if we could get our CB now. This would allow TT to concentrate more on other areas (not saying we would not need another CB because I think we do).signal » Fri Mar 29, 2024 6:49 am
Yes, I did think that TT would be busier in the free agency so as to enter the draft will less holes so as to give him more freedom entering the draft. I do know that moves can be made after the draft and there are the late cuts. But damn, there be some gaping holes on this team as it stands.RI RAIDER wrote Fri Mar 29, 2024 6:07 am:The OL is a HUGE need. Losing players, no depth, and limited talent. Penix Jr. to visit five teams including Raiders:devilraid316 » Fri Mar 29, 2024 1:58 pm
I like Becton a lot. I think he could be a steal IF the Raiders committed to him at RG. The Jets kept trying him at tackle. A man that big, belongs inside. He's not quick enough to stop speed rushers. Guys like Bob Gallery struggled his entire career trying to play tackle, but found a home at guard and really salvaged what would have been a bust career. Larry Allen got owned by Reggie White when he attempted to play tackle, but turned into one of the best guards that ever played.
