So I'm on my like 53rd mock draft simulation and JJ fell to 13 so I took him. Don't know how I feel about this.raiders93 » Wed Apr 17, 2024 8:51 pm
I don’t hate JJ as a prospect…. I just think he’s gonna get way over drafted. He’s still QB6 for me.ALLRAIDERWORLD21 wrote Wed Apr 17, 2024 7:24 pm:So I'm on my like 53rd mock draft simulation and JJ fell to 13 so I took him. Don't know how I feel about this.

I have read (but forgot) where I read that Penix has been healthy the past two seasons.RunOverByHubbard wrote Wed Apr 17, 2024 5:25 pm:I have never really thought that we would move up into the top three or even four. I think we will get a QB at 13 if we want one, and if they are all gone, we'll take a (hopefully) damn good CB or OL. I just look at stuff out of curiosity. I wondered why so many ranked Maye so high so I looked at him too after looking at the others first. Actually the least film I have looked at is McCarthy. I like Penix and like it says in ALL the profiles -- concerned about past serious injuries, but he stayed healthy this past season.

Almost all the mocks point that out -- injury concerns but he may be past that. Would you draft a guy with an ACL knee and shoulder surgery? I guess I would if he showed after a lot of games that they did not affect his performance. The bigger freak-out might be his performance vs. Michigan where he looked pretty darn awful.crowbar wrote Wed Apr 17, 2024 8:55 pm:I have read (but forgot) where I read that Penix has been healthy the past two seasons.

Oh, I agree, seeing them play is the best way to evaluate, to a degree. I know what I do not know and as a fan I watch things differently than a legit talent evaluator. I may miss mechanics issues and such, so reading the thoughts of talent evaluators who I trust to know there shit is actually a great tool. And I do not have time to watch film on 20 or so players so at some point you have to trust guys who know their shit to actually know their shit.Opoponax50 wrote Wed Apr 17, 2024 5:13 pm:I'll support that statement, but at the same time say that seeing a guy play can make a big difference. I wanted us to trade up for Herbert in the worst way because I'd watched a full 6 or 7 Oregon games that year (for some reason they were on all the time that season). The dude just had "It". He had a big arm, was mobile, and he loved to compete.
Unfortunately the organization was still smitten with Carr (fuck!fuck!fuck!fuck!fuck!fuck!) so the move was likely never contemplated.

That was also the rankings from most of the talking heads back in January. The hype machine is real.raiders93 wrote Wed Apr 17, 2024 8:51 pm:I don’t hate JJ as a prospect…. I just think he’s gonna get way over drafted. He’s still QB6 for me.
Not to be to contrarian but I’ve got:
1a) Williams
1b) Maye
3) Daniels
4) penix
5) nix
6) McCarthy

Nah, Jim Carrey was brilliant in "In Living Color" (so were they all), but after that it was the same old thing every time.riseNraid09 wrote Wed Apr 17, 2024 12:39 pm:I fucking hope so. It's classic Jim Carrey...

Surprisingly, while I expected not to like the "Grinch" ( I grew up when there were 3 Christmas specials: Grinch, Charlie Brown, Rudolph) so the Grinch animated has a special place in my heart. But I thought he, and the movie, were great.

I'm a big Dan Aykroyd fan, but I couldn't stand his part in "My Girl". A down and out funeral director? PLEASE stick to comedy Dan!crowbar » Thu Apr 18, 2024 11:20 am
