Exactly, how many times have we seen WR's in particular, and often DB's shoot up draft boards after running a blazing 40. With very mixed resultsAmish Cabal wrote Tue Apr 23, 2024 9:57 am:I tend to be leery of "late risers" myself. Their body of work on film I think is more indicative of future success than combine scores, or guys who had a good day at the Senior Bowl. > 95% of my assessments would be game film if I were a scout. Example a WR who is shifty and a knack for getting open, is more valuable than a guy who shoots up boards because he ran a 4.3 IMO. Freddy B and Jerry Rice are great examples. Of course on the contrary is Cliff Branch, who had to be taught to run routes and catch... that one turned out pretty good for us.
Getting paid to watch game film would be my dream job, but alas... I can only come here and pretend.

Yeah, assuming that the first dozen picks go as expected, I'd go Fuaga/Latham to fortify the OL over CB at this point in the roster construction, and would be completely fine with Beebe or Barton in the second - unless Penix is still available late first, in which case I'd make a move for him - but I completely agree we could build a nasty OL for years to come in this scenario, and I'm a huge believer in trench warfare!WolfRaider wrote Tue Apr 23, 2024 10:06 am:I can see AP banging the table for Arnold but I can see them settling on Fuaga.
I can see guards going earlier than expected with the value they got in FA. Grabbing a Gaurd like Cooper Beebe in the second along with our tackle in the 1st, could transform our O-line into an elite group, especially in the run game.
Jaylen Wright in the 3rd might be the best RB in the class, we need a great run game to be successful.
Grabbing Devontez Walker in the 4th to finish off the offensive transformation, deep threat with big upside

If Penix or JJ don’t fall to #13, OT & then G in the 2nd would be nice. Even tho CB is a need too, that be an elite OL unit as you say.WolfRaider wrote Tue Apr 23, 2024 10:06 am:I can see AP banging the table for Arnold but I can see them settling on Fuaga.

If they are gone, f☆ck Jordan Travis and any QBs outside the first round. It would be a waste of a pick.MexicanHulk wrote Tue Apr 23, 2024 11:01 am:If Penix or JJ don’t fall to #13, OT & then G in the 2nd would be nice. Even tho CB is a need too, that be an elite OL unit as you say.
I don’t like Wright much tho. I’d dislike it a good bit in the 3rd too. Ray Davis or Marshawn Lloyd are my targets for RB. Getting one of those guys in the 4th or 5th would be awesome. They could easily outperform their draft value. They’re likely going to be picked later than Wright &, I myself see them as clear better prospects than Wright. Just my opinion.
I’m still holding out hope for Penix or JJ. Just have a feeling they’ll be gone & Raiders are forced to skip QB in the top 3 rounds. Jordan Travis in the 4th/5th if that happens. No to Rattler.

Yes, but being a draftee to the team is different.vtraider wrote Tue Apr 23, 2024 11:12 am:That would make it even better. But we've also staff already had one of his kids in camp at least haven't we

It's safe to suspect that every team looking at QB called them--even Chicago.BoKnows81 wrote Tue Apr 23, 2024 10:19 am:The Raiders attempted to acquire the #2 pick
NFL Network’s Ian Rapoport reports there’s “no indication” the Commanders will trade away the second overall pick in the 2024 draft.
The Patriots, meanwhile, remain open to trading down from the No. 3 pick if they get a reasonable offer. So far, the offers for New England’s pick have been “laughable,” according to a report in the Boston Herald. Washington brass seem dead set on landing either Jayden Daniels or Drake Maye with the second pick in the draft, and whoever goes to Washington will likely start Week 1 with little QB competition in house. The Raiders, according to NFL Network’s Mike Garofolo, were among the teams that tested Washington’s willingness to part with the second pick.

You’re probably right about Loyd. I actually think Davis is better than him but, Loyd is likely rated higher.Dark Horse wrote Tue Apr 23, 2024 11:13 am:If they are gone, f☆ck Jordan Travis and any QBs outside the first round. It would be a waste of a pick.
Also, I don't think there is any way Loyd goes makes it to the 4th.

I like how teams like the comanders and patriots that are not just a qb away from competing are stopping teams like the vikings and raiders who are just a qb away by not accepting a deal that will land them more picks.vtraider » Tue Apr 23, 2024 11:56 am
My son asked me one time (small school div 2 wr). "Dad I know you hate the broncos and chiefs what if I was ever to be drafted by one of them". I told him my love for him and desire to see him succeed far outweighs any hate for a team and I would be there to cheer him on every game. But as soon as he wasn't on that team anymore then fuck them I hope they never win another gameDark Horse wrote Tue Apr 23, 2024 11:26 am:Yes, but being a draftee to the team is different.
