Hopefully Stroud avoids the sophomore slump because Diggs has shown to be a pretty selfish guy. Maybe it works out for them but I would have looked at better team guys like Keenan Allen or Adams before trading for him.Jeevo wrote Wed Apr 03, 2024 9:25 am:I don't disagree with the wr move, I just wouldn't have made it with Diggs. Not a fan of his.

Good call!chucker wrote Wed Apr 03, 2024 8:11 am:I had pegged the Texans as a team that would be looking to trade for a quality WR, and thought it would be a viable destination for Adams.

There's certainly no shortage of divas at the position.chucker wrote Wed Apr 03, 2024 9:28 am:I'm not a big fan of whiny WRs either ...

His numbers shot through the roof once they got a quarterback in Minnesota and when he went to Buffalo. With that in mind he is now 30 and thousands of snaps later definitely not the player he was. Last year saw a big drop off from the year previously and that is with an extra game played than the year before. On one hand it makes perfect sense as it can be a benefit to the young guys while making it much tougher on defenses helping the offense and Stroud in that creampuff league. On the other I would like to see the contract! Did he give them a team friendly contract or is he hogging all the money?chucker wrote Wed Apr 03, 2024 8:45 am:I disagree. I think this is the right move for the Texans - Diggs is a complement to the guys they have and allows them to maximize Stroud as he develops on his rookie deal. The Texans are in the perfect situation to invest in a vet WR IMO, and I'd assume that Diggs has been in contact with the Texans and is in favor of the destination.

The Bills have an older team so it appears from my cheap seats that they are trying to get younger and shuffle the roster around while attempting to stay competitive which theoretically they should be able to because they have a quarterback.Jeevo wrote Wed Apr 03, 2024 8:35 am:I don't like this move from a Houston point of view. That's a big contract for a 31 year-old malcontent at a position where they already have a pretty good 1 and 2. I don't mind them acquiring a wr but I would have looked elsewhere.
From a Bills point of view is this 6 starters now gone from last season?

It seems certain they are out of a SB run this year while attempting to make the playoffs and are looking to revitalize the roster. Get rid of there massive dead cap while going cheaper with young talent and do it in a hurray while they still have Allen in his prime. Seems to me that is the plan in Buffalo. I would have dealt him as well. He't not getting any younger and even more so his personalty is getting worse and dragging the team down.

Diggs is under contract and the contract is cheap for the production he's had. My guess is that he'll play under the current deal for 2024 and then get whiny in 2025 if he has a good season.16 to 88 wrote Wed Apr 03, 2024 1:39 pm:His numbers shot through the roof once they got a quarterback in Minnesota and when he went to Buffalo. If it'a a 2 year contract where they can get out from under his pouty personalty in year 3 then this is all the better. If they can't and as his production slips and he starts pointing fingers at everyone but himself he could end up being a coach/team killer. I will also be curious how Stroud looks this year with a years worth of teams seeing how to slow him down, which in turn means if they do it's likely Diggs production will as well. Which he ain't gonna like. Then there is the matter of now they don't have a 2nd round pick next year...
