Had high cholesterol at 47. Doctor asked me if I wanted to go on a diet or take a pill. Was surprised he was giving me a choice. Took the diet since I'd never been on one. Low carb, low sugar. Dropped 20 pounds and the cholesterol dropped to normal.Goodtimes333 » Mon Mar 25, 2024 6:15 pm
Regarding our health system, it really comes down to the value of the dollar IMO. It's tanking & hard. Losing the gold backing, the relentless printing, the 30+ trillion in debt. People are heavily paying into social security & Medicare that they'll never benefit from when the time comes. The fed has already publicly questioned it's viability long term, even up to ten years out. The medicines, medical tools, etc are generally not manufactured here either. Many hospitals are closing across the country from financial issues.Goodtimes333 » Mon Mar 25, 2024 6:31 pm
Speaking of, does anyone know if the player or the teams pay for surgeries? Say an ACL, guaranteed surgery & it's non elective with a rehabchucker » Mon Mar 25, 2024 6:35 pm
Teams pay all the medical costs - I think there are requirements to consult with team doctors and keep the team's medical and training staff informed, but the player can select their own surgeon.Goodtimes333 wrote Mon Mar 25, 2024 6:31 pm:Speaking of, does anyone know if the player or the teams pay for surgeries? I lost over 40lbs in 3 months without exercise. Just ate less. Works everytimechucker wrote Mon Mar 25, 2024 6:30 pm:Move more, eat less, and don't talk politics on the board please.

OK, I'll change it to "don't move, eat less", but I still prefer the original plan. Really eating less junk is enough to help a lot of people. But chips are way tastier than lettuce.Xramfan wrote Mon Mar 25, 2024 6:59 pm:I lost over 40lbs in 3 months without exercise. Just ate less. Works everytime

Just saying......weight loss is all about intake/out take.......excersize is a whole other level of health benefits.chucker wrote Mon Mar 25, 2024 7:01 pm:OK, I'll change it to "don't move, eat less", but I still prefer the original plan.

Yep, a lot of people just focus on the exercise portion, and wonder why they don't get results. Both are beneficial. One thing that is a benefit of regular exercise that I wasn't previously aware of is that it reduces the rate of cognitive aging. Kind of a big deal for all the old fuckers on this site like me.Xramfan wrote Mon Mar 25, 2024 7:03 pm:Just saying......weight loss is all about intake/out take.......excersize is a whole other level of health benefits.

Chips (or meat) never get recalled for salmonella, like lettuce.chucker wrote Mon Mar 25, 2024 7:01 pm:OK, I'll change it to "don't move, eat less", but I still prefer the original plan. Really eating less junk is enough to help a lot of people. But chips are way tastier than lettuce.

I quit smoking after 25ish years cold turkey on my first try last October, stopped drinking soda pop and eating like a pig and dropped 30-35 pounds. I'm sure if I did go on a legit diet I'd drop even more but some things are just too tasty to give upXramfan wrote Mon Mar 25, 2024 6:59 pm:I lost over 40lbs in 3 months without exercise. I just read an article about Van Routen when he was with the Jets. He's not a power blocker but a zone scheme lineman. The Raiders are planning to run a zone scheme. Not that I'm a big fan of the zone block scheme but what are they waiting for? RESIGN VAN ROUTEN!!! There doesn't seem to be very many zone guards in this years draft, at least not in the early rounds. I would've liked to see them draft Layden Robinson, but he's a power guard and not a good fit.Xramfan » Mon Mar 25, 2024 7:57 pm
Full disclosure my initial response was tongue in cheek as I was referring to about 8 years ago when I had throat ca and had head/neck radiation 5 days a week for 7 weeks. Kinda sorta took away my appetite and thats when I lost all that weight. I call it the cancer diet. Eat less, no need for workouts.... Worked like a charm lolHellbound wrote Mon Mar 25, 2024 7:51 pm:I quit smoking after 25ish years cold turkey on my first try last October, stopped drinking soda pop and eating like a pig and dropped 30-35 pounds.
