Well that's a little different take than "I think some just want the QB to say we have a QB". Maybe choose your words a little wiser.Hellbound wrote Sun Apr 07, 2024 4:05 pm:News flash. Everyone on this board wants that elite franchise qb but there's rational ways of going about it. If all of the top players on Telesco's board are qbs and one is there at 13 or available for a reasonable trade up you get him. If the qbs are gone or whomever might be left isn't at the top of your board, you take another position. Some people would take the qb no matter what

Yes, Josh Allen will still give the bills a chance every year bc he's an elite QB. That's an easy one.Hellbound wrote Sun Apr 07, 2024 4:05 pm:News flash. Btw...no matter the talent of the qb, you need to have a team around him. He's not covering up deficiencies like you think they will or can. Think Josh Allen is going to lead the Bills into a deep run this year?

I don't think someone that will trade away the 1-3 rounders for three or four years in a row should be telling anyone to be wiserBoKnows81 wrote Sun Apr 07, 2024 4:10 pm:Well that's a little different take than "I think some just want the QB to say we have a QB". He’s a pretty good evaluator period. I’d rather listen to him and others like him because their evaluations are entirely their own.pfish57 wrote Sun Apr 07, 2024 3:51 pm:Simms isn't a bad QB evaluator...he always called out DC's flaws lol

Both Super Bowl teams last year traded up for a qbsignal wrote Sun Apr 07, 2024 5:36 am:I look around and see teams that have won championships or have played in the championship game or are perennial playoff team and most of those teams did not trade away a boatload of picks to get their guy.
I simply think to say that the Raiders MUST trade to get their guy in this draft in order to be competitive or turn into a perennial playoff team are wrong or at least not seeing the entire picture.
The Raiders have had to endure some really bad drafts of late and many of them filled with reaches for a particular position. I think at times, when you go into a draft and attempt to force things or try and do too much, you might come away with very little or could even be a draft that sets you back.
I just want to see a draft where TT goes in and collects a boatload of talent that will fortify this team. If a QB he really covets is there for the taking ...great, if not, then go about finding another player at another position that will make a difference. When you force your hand in these types of things, sometimes if not often they can go sour fast.
TT should approach the draft like he approaches free agency...in a methodic, rational mode and be aggressive when he needs to be but never emotionally or irrationally reckless desperate to fill a spot.
P.S. I should confess that I have been impatient with his methodic approach to free agency, but fully realize that his approach is the right one and that my impatience or my fanaticism (being a fan) clouds my judgement and is a rather silly emotional response.
