I can see Daniels ending up like a Tyrod Taylor in the NFL.riseNraid09 » Tue Apr 16, 2024 2:47 am
it is very possible. history tells us 2 of those top 3 QBs will suffer greatly, and it will probably be the two that end up in Washington and New England. Two defensive oriented coaches paired with OC's they have never worked with. Isn't very ideal situations for a rookie QB.WolfRaider wrote Tue Apr 16, 2024 2:33 am:I can see Daniels ending up like a Tyrod Taylor in the NFL.

Meanwhile a QB taken further down the board will outperform the place taken after he goes to a better situationriseNraid09 wrote Tue Apr 16, 2024 2:47 am:it is very possible. history tells us 2 of those top 3 QBs will suffer greatly, and it will probably be the two that end up in Washington and New England. Or like Akili Smith or Trubisky. This game's fun, I bet I can name more examples than you can if you want to continueDark Horse wrote Mon Apr 15, 2024 7:15 pm:Like Joe Burrow?

That really doesn't make any sense. He will be given far more opportunities than Taylor who was a 6th rounder.WolfRaider wrote Tue Apr 16, 2024 2:33 am:I can see Daniels ending up like a Tyrod Taylor in the NFL.

Is he a more accurate comp since he fits your narrative? Ok since you want to make up a rule as you go and say 40 tds, I'll make one up and say keep it at the same school. JaMarcus RusselDark Horse wrote Tue Apr 16, 2024 5:32 am:But why not Joe Burrow, who is a more accurate comparison since most people thought your two stupid examples were reaches at the time and also neither came close to 40 TDs?

Which one? Yeah, that's the problem.

Winning Superbowls are hard. You cant measure a great QB by Superbowls alone. Hell Stabler and Madden only won one. You guys would probably be happy with QBs like Josh Allen, Herbert, Burrow, Jackson. Even the great Arron Rodgers only won one Superbowl. I want a QB that puts us in the Superbowl mix every year. Personally I think Daniels on our team could be the guy, but its always a crap shoot.DanKD » Tue Apr 16, 2024 8:05 am
No and i dont even prefer Levis to O'ConnellArsenal Raider wrote Tue Apr 16, 2024 12:29 am:Obviously it remains to be seen whether Levis develops into a good QB or not, but I wish we would have drafted him last year.
Curious, would anyone here prefer Levis to Nix/Penix?

Here's an history review lists that clearly shows how drafting QB's has been the last 24 years. The bad is abysmal and the good is very good, but drops off quickly.riseNraid09 wrote Tue Apr 16, 2024 2:47 am:it is very possible. history tells us 2 of those top 3 QBs will suffer greatly, and it will probably be the two that end up in Washington and New England. Yet every year fans of QB needy teams don the rose tinted glasses, slosh back the Kool-Aid, and choose to jump on the hype train and ignore obvious flaws.SkullCrusher wrote Tue Apr 16, 2024 8:24 am:Here's an history review lists that clearly shows how drafting QB's has been the last 24 years. In hope that they could be the guy.
With predictable results.

I could be wrong, but I did read an article that did a study and the OL had the greatest rate of success in the first round and that the WR position had the highest bust rate in round one. But it has been some time since reading the article, so not entirely sure of that.SkullCrusher wrote Tue Apr 16, 2024 8:49 am:Understood.
The counter is if you need a QB you need a QB and while the %'s aren't high you could still land a good one and as we know whoever you pick non-QB they don't have anywhere close to a 100% success rate either. Probably all positions (less PK/P) are under 50%.
