Wow, that might be the best response I've ever heard from an athlete. Speaks to his level of intelligence and maturity.chucker wrote Tue Apr 23, 2024 10:47 am:Hell of a way to finish this quote by Penix:
Michael Penix Jr.: “I hear it all the time. ‘He’s been injured, what happens if he gets injured again?’ Haven’t I shown you what that looks like? Haven’t I put almost 2,000 plays on tape since my last injury? Since my ‘fourth-season ending injury in 4 years’ that’s constantly mentioned whenever my name is brought up?
Truth is, I’d be more worried if I had never been injured. We don’t all come back the same. I can’t speak for those that have never gone through anything. But I can speak on me. I’ve seen how deep my foundation is. I know the storms I’m prepared to weather. For most people that’d be the end of their story. But there's more to my story, and I own every page of it.
This isn’t a solo journey for me. There’s been plenty of other guys who were cut from the same fabric, who experienced the same challenges, and displayed the same resilience. Guys you would’ve lost money on, if you bet against them. Guys like Thomas Davis, who went on to make three Pro Bowls after tearing the same ACL three times. Guys like Frank Gore, who had a 16-year Hall-of-Fame-level career at running back after tearing his ACL twice in college.
So I have no problem taking all the MRI’s and X-rays you ask of me.
Truth is, it’s an EKG that will tell you everything you need to know about me.”

What makes you think that? This doesn't appear to be professional written.crowbar wrote Tue Apr 23, 2024 1:36 pm:No,I don't believe that he made that statement by himself. He had help.
But the facts are that it got done,so it don't matter how it got done.

It might not be "professional" but it's kind above the paygrade with the words & sentences that were selected.Dark Horse wrote Tue Apr 23, 2024 1:40 pm:What makes you think that? This doesn't appear to be professional written.

Why is it above the pay grade of a college graduatecrowbar wrote Tue Apr 23, 2024 1:47 pm:It might not be "professional" but it's kind above the paygrade with the words & sentences that were selected.

Penix's response is a good one, but it does not erase the fact that he had four season ending injuries including multiple torn ACL injuries on the same right knee.DanKD » Tue Apr 23, 2024 1:55 pm
There is still some risk. But if Penix was healthy all through college he'd be a top 3 pick and we wouldnt get him anywaysignal wrote Tue Apr 23, 2024 1:50 pm:Penix's response is a good one, but it does not erase the fact that he had four season ending injuries including multiple torn ACL injuries on the same right knee.
While it is plain that he has the fortitude and fight to come back from injuries, it also means he missed a ton of games at the college level due to injury.
Will he at the next level, where the game is faster and the players bigger and stronger? Can't say for sure but it should be factored in when evaluating that player.

I just don't see how a QB needy team like the Broncos could pass on Penix Jr. I think we have to jump past them and hope the Vikings are thinking Drake Maye.Dark Horse » Tue Apr 23, 2024 4:21 pm
LMAO, how do you know what he is and isn't capable of in terms of written self expression?crowbar wrote Tue Apr 23, 2024 1:47 pm:It might not be "professional" but it's kind above the paygrade with the words & sentences that were selected.

Did Penix write that himself? Entirely possible.raiders93 » Tue Apr 23, 2024 4:59 pm
I’d say Nix is gonna have a stylistic difference from Penix and it depends what you value. Nix has the mobility piece going for him. If that’s high priority I can see how you’d prefer Nix over Penix.JTRaider wrote Tue Apr 23, 2024 1:58 pm:I just don't see how a QB needy team like the Broncos could pass on Penix Jr. I think we have to jump past them and hope the Vikings are thinking Drake Maye.
I did like that O'Sullivan said he missed some plays down field for some contrast (When processing speed is key), but he has all of the measurables. I think he could grow into one hell of a QB in the right system. "Explosive arm talent" is something I have read often.
As Chucker said, there is definitely a lot of buzz on Penix, lots of fans think their team might end up with him and the other two are rarely discussed.
* Not a huge fan of Nix from the little I have seen. I think he might slide down the boards.

In Telasco's press conference he mentioned not taking guys they are unsure about. I think if they take a QB they really like the guy. I dont think they will be taking any of the top 6 just to make sure they take a QB.RunOverByHubbard » Tue Apr 23, 2024 6:42 pm
