Maybe but it's not guaranteed. Nobody really knows. Heck Rattler could turn out to be better than some of these guys.crowbar wrote Fri Apr 19, 2024 11:38 am:I'd rather have Penix and our 2 or 3 1st round pics.
Are the other 3 QB's actually that much better?
WolfRaider » Fri Apr 19, 2024 12:19 pm
To be honest, I would want them to be QB3 all year, sit with a QB coach and just work on themselves for the year, learn the playbook and then complete year 2Dark Horse wrote Fri Apr 19, 2024 10:34 am:The problem with settling for Pratt and Rattler is the pecking order. Are they gonna beat out AOC is Minshew in camp? Highly unlikely, which means they wouldn't get reps, and thus a day 2 pick is wasted in the short term. They likelihood is they all still will be severely outmatched in the AFC West.

For sure, given that we have all been right, and very very wrong countless times, it might be prudent to discuss and..... consider...GoodTimeCharlie wrote Fri Apr 19, 2024 12:11 pm:Judging from the sidelines, I’ve found that most of you are absolutely right. Yikes....that's certainly a bold opinion and explains things. You're either trolling or are a young pup. Maxx is no where near the goat Raider. Rephrase it and say the goat from current to the past 10-20 years and people might get on board with your statementAngryRaidersFan wrote Fri Apr 19, 2024 11:20 am:Nothing is going to change my stance. We literally have the greatest raider of all time on our roster right now!
Do not waste another year of this man's prime
Trade the picks and get the qb if the patriots are open to it. If not take penix at 13.

Getting Nix would be a real bummer. I would say just wait till later and grab Rattler if we had to grab a QB later on.chucker wrote Fri Apr 19, 2024 6:13 am:I like O'Connell more than some people do, and I root for him because he showed toughness and he's a Raider so I get where you're coming from. I'd still prefer they drafted a QB higher to give a better chance of getting one who's "the guy". I don't think there's any chance Penix drops to us at 44, and I think there's a slim chance that even Nix, who I don't really want anyway, falls that far.

There is NOTHING irrational about what I said. Playing the percentages is playing the percentages, not guaranteeing a successful pick. I'm not exactly sure why this statement of fact is getting you so upset. That fact that your correctly brought up the the draft is not a science is precisely why you shouldn't based your choice on position success percentages.signal wrote Fri Apr 19, 2024 11:06 am:"So even playing the percentages doesn't work."
I guess you can simply dismiss facts because there are outliers and then all opinions are equal. Yep, that is the world I want to live in. Good grief. I guess you could live in that irrational and rather illogical world. Or you could recognize that while the draft is not a science, there is a lot of tape and data (measurables) and most sensible people take all of that information and evidence and attempt to make the most sound and reasonable pick possible.
If TT LOVES a QB and goes in that direction I have no problem with it. But, I am not going to sit here and state he must do it. To me that is childish silliness.

I apologize. He's not the greatest raider of all time but he could of been/ could be with a little more help. He's definitely the best raider since the 90s with Charles Woodson being the only one who could be debatable.Hellbound wrote Fri Apr 19, 2024 12:43 pm:Yikes....that's certainly a bold opinion and explains things. I think Crosby is top 5 when you consider the kind of "help" he's had over 5 seasons.Attyla wrote Fri Apr 19, 2024 11:31 am:Maxx is the greatest Raider of all time? Uh, no, not even top 5 slick. Go watch any number of games in the 70's and early 80's and get back to me....if you still think that, you do not know football.

No need to apologize. Younger fans are going to be partial with whoever they grew up watching. I'm a bit older and can remember watching the older guys and my opinion is a lot of those dudes are better or to me, rank higher than what Maxx does. He's certainly an All Time Raider, but just not the goat imoAngryRaidersFan wrote Fri Apr 19, 2024 1:18 pm:I apologize. I like reading all your guys opinions. I'm just thinking about how this division has gone over the past decade now and I am just under the mind set that we need a drastic change.
I am young but I respect the great raiders of the 70s and 80s. I just think they were given a little more help then Maxx has gotten and how many players have gotten our logo literally tattooed on them???
He's already top 5 in my book easily and he's top 1 over the past 30 years
Attyla » Fri Apr 19, 2024 1:30 pm
I would disagree that a guy who has played such a short time would be top 5. Were that the case, I would move Bo to number 1 but I can't because of his short career. I agree he might be one of the best since the 90's but even then you have not only Woodson but Brown, Rice and Gannon to mix in. Gannon might be the best of those guys but his time being a Raider was so short and he was hamstrung by the conservative nature of Gruden.AngryRaidersFan wrote Fri Apr 19, 2024 1:18 pm:I apologize.
