I missed it? What did he write?Arsenal Raider wrote Thu Mar 28, 2024 12:26 pm:I really don't want Penix now. Already too concerned with online narratives and tweeting.
Can anyone imagine the Raiders QB of the future writing shit like that online? lol

The Chiefs moved up half the draft for Mahomes, the Bills 5 spots for Josh Allen.. more often than not maybe it doesn’t work out? But that’s just QBs in general. Look at all the teams who more recently took QBs in their original spots and still drafted stinkers. If they believe there’s a guy who can consistently compete with Mahomes and has the potential to be elite, I say move up.. and while I like AOC & Minshew, they aren’t it. I just don’t want the team to get desperate and trade the farm for a QB who they weren’t as high on as the other guys, or just to get one because they don’t have any QBs on the roster. If your guy is available to move up for, and the trade is within reason, do itraider_kin wrote Fri Mar 29, 2024 12:03 am:Bleacher Report: Trading Up For a QB is Almost Always a Bad Idea.

Good pull quote: Here's the key: If you're rolling dice regardless, why pay extra to roll? Precedents indicate that doing so is no more likely to pay off, and if everyone loses, you're out more than everyone else at the craps table.

Surely it will be Bo Nix. He’ll want a system QB that can run the system he wants. That’s Bo Nix. Penix likes to go big game hunting like Wilson which Payton won’t like.crowbar wrote Fri Mar 29, 2024 4:03 am:The Bronco's are going to select Penix Jr.

Nix is an accurate short to mid range QB who does find the end zone. He has a nice touch on his throws, but can rifle it when needed. He is mobile but not really a runner. Smart QB who reads defenses very well. Does not have a big arm and will not throw deep often or well.16 to 88 » Fri Mar 29, 2024 5:33 am
I went back over the last 20 years and ran the statistics and posted them somewhere around here. Much more often than not moving up to draft a quarterback was a losing proposition.Spirit in Black wrote Fri Mar 29, 2024 3:13 am:The Chiefs moved up half the draft for Mahomes, the Bills 5 spots for Josh Allen.. more often than not maybe it doesn’t work out? Not going to pretend I really know how any of these QBs will pan out. I really don't know.Attyla wrote Fri Mar 29, 2024 4:58 am:Nix is an accurate short to mid range QB who does find the end zone. These were also the traits of Drew Brees....any questions? Not form me.

I have no idea how he will do either. He is extremely accurate and a Brees clone in many ways. Brees never had a deep ball and he did OK for himself. If you do not have a deep ball, you need to be accurate as hell. Nix was that exactly at the college level. I do not think he is bust material, it will just matter how he is coached up at the next level. Honestly, Denver is a fit for him in that regard.signal wrote Fri Mar 29, 2024 5:58 am:Not going to pretend I really know how any of these QBs will pan out. I really don't know.
But I do know that in the NFL, if your QB cannot force defenses to defend the entire field and that they are allowed to press given the QBs inability to throw deep or to throw deep with accuracy then the offense can implode.
We saw it clearly last season with Jimmy Picks and have seen it happen with the check down king at times when he was here.
The run game suffers and defenses are free to spend their focus on only 10 yards or so from the line of scrimmage.
But I have no idea how Bo will do at the next level, but my gut tells me he might not have the same type of success at the NFL level without being able to make opposing defenses defend the entire field.

Yes, it is almost impossible to say anything close to a certainty about most of these players coming out of college.Attyla wrote Fri Mar 29, 2024 7:54 am:I have no idea how he will do either.
