If I am the Jets, I am hoping at least 4 QB's are off the board in the first 5 picks. One of the other 2 beast WR's could slide a little bit and the Jets may have a opportunity to grab one (they may have to trade up a little bit). That would give them a great 3 headed monster with Wilson and Williams. They could also go after Bowers (TE is a big need) as the kid is going to be a STUD. They did a good job fixing their shit OL. AR will have all the pieces in place and if they can keep him upright, their offense will be as legit as their D.Attyla wrote Tue Apr 23, 2024 6:33 am:To max out the Jets chances, they need the draft to hit on players who will play now to give them immediate results. They cannot afford to draft a QB and certainly not one on day one or two. Get a vet to back up whackadoodle and get some players to help him or help the defense.

They can get a receiver later in the draft, I am taking Bowers if he is there.RI RAIDER wrote Tue Apr 23, 2024 7:32 am:If I am the Jets, I am hoping at least 4 QB's are off the board in the first 5 picks. Jets are going all in, no chance they go QB. They’ll grab a weapon for Rodgers. Probably BowersSkullCrusher » Tue Apr 23, 2024 8:52 am
About AOC being a smart and a hard worker. I'll add then don't sleep on Minshew. That piece with Maxx is lengthy and very interesting, you can see how he ticks and operates, he comes off very chill and even surf-boardery'ish, but it takes a lot of intelligence to pull cool off (we all want to be cool, but most aren't because of intelligence not knowing how and to be consistent with it) and he's not really as wild as his first impressions. When they got into more of the business end of being QB you could tell he's very serious about that and he's looking deeper. I came away finding him very intelligent. So hopefully we have two hard working, intelligent QB's already on contract and from what I see I think we do.Hellbound » Tue Apr 23, 2024 9:22 am
Something to keep in mind that we all kind of ignore is that AP has talked highly of O'Connell and said he has earned and will compete for the starting gig. It could be the proverbial coaches speak, but I think AP actually likes him and might not have qb as big of a need/want for the staff as what we thinkSkullCrusher wrote Tue Apr 23, 2024 8:52 am:About AOC being a smart and a hard worker. I mean I thought people generally defer to "pro style" QBs? It should make perfect sense.chucker wrote Tue Apr 23, 2024 6:14 am:I think the Jets are a team that will not be focused on the future QB because they have to maximize their immediate future or they just make the Rodgers deal a failure, which can cost a GM his job.
Dianna Russini said that the QB that a lot of teams are high on, that the general draft media isn't talking about enough, is Penix. There are a lot of weird twitter accounts like nflrums, nfldraftbites, mlfootball etc that just throw shit against the wall to win clicks. By contrast, Russini is someone who actually has sources.

2020 was amazing and shows the potential that is possible and it also shows the GM's got it right .signal wrote Tue Apr 23, 2024 5:17 am:I could be dead wrong and this could be the best draft ever for the QB position but something tells me that when all the smoke clears a few years down the road, it will be more of the same and that this year was no different than any other....other than the fact that this particular draft had so many teams in a place where QB is a perceived need. .

Damn, this is a video of Johnny Manziel saying why Penix, Jr. is his #2 QB.chucker wrote Tue Apr 23, 2024 6:14 am:I think the Jets are a team that will not be focused on the future QB because they have to maximize their immediate future or they just make the Rodgers deal a failure, which can cost a GM his job.

I feel I'd take him as #2 QB, I didn't vote for him above because I figured he was gone by 13 and Nix was the best we have a fair chance at, McCarthy is the one I'm not sold on. It is pretty wild when you read some of them can go super high and other places have them in the 2nd round. IMO any make it to the second round they will be the first pick in the second during a trade in the night for that pick.Dark Horse wrote Tue Apr 23, 2024 10:26 am:Damn, this is a video of Johnny Manziel saying why Penix, Jr. is his #2 QB.

Michael Penix Jr.: “I hear it all the time. ‘He’s been injured, what happens if he gets injured again?’ Haven’t I shown you what that looks like? Haven’t I put almost 2,000 plays on tape since my last injury? Since my ‘fourth-season ending injury in 4 years’ that’s constantly mentioned whenever my name is brought up?
Truth is, I’d be more worried if I had never been injured. We don’t all come back the same. I can’t speak for those that have never gone through anything. But I can speak on me. I’ve seen how deep my foundation is. I know the storms I’m prepared to weather. For most people that’d be the end of their story. But there's more to my story, and I own every page of it.
This isn’t a solo journey for me. There’s been plenty of other guys who were cut from the same fabric, who experienced the same challenges, and displayed the same resilience. Guys you would’ve lost money on, if you bet against them. Guys like Thomas Davis, who went on to make three Pro Bowls after tearing the same ACL three times. Guys like Frank Gore, who had a 16-year Hall-of-Fame-level career at running back after tearing his ACL twice in college.
So I have no problem taking all the MRI’s and X-rays you ask of me.
Truth is, it’s an EKG that will tell you everything you need to know about me.”

Never understood how MPJ isn't the concensus #2 at worst 3 qb in this draft. He's clearly the most mature pocket passer, has the best arm and can run. Honestly I've never really liked the way Williams runs around so much looking to go off script. I'd be happy if the Raiders picked MPJ wherever in the first round even higher than at 13.chucker wrote Tue Apr 23, 2024 10:47 am:Hell of a way to finish this quote by Penix:

Is 2021 one of the worst years for drafted QBs in league history or what? What a mess!
