My bad. I saw him on the list and assumed he was available.chucker wrote Tue Jan 23, 2024 12:07 pm:I do not anticipate Browning being available unless you want to trade for him.

The big concern is pulling a Carolina imo. It’s not the mid 1st round pick anyone’s worried about… it’s the what if we wind up being one of the worst teams in the league? If you’re trading up you better be damn sure that some way, somehow… you’re at least average the next year.Marzan wrote Tue Jan 23, 2024 9:52 am:Spot on. But our fanbase is terrified of gambling with a bunch of firsts to trade up.
As someone who’s seen us squandering first round picks on the likes of Gareon Conley,
Alex Leatherwood or DJ Hayden, I say what have you got to lose? A QB that makes it past the scouting departments of every franchise to the second round is not a QB that will make you a perpetual contender

Given the assumption the Raiders draft a QB, I think I would go with Jacoby Brissett. He is a free agent and would come cheap. No, not a sexy pick. But I want to spend money on the interior of the lines.Willmark » Tue Jan 23, 2024 12:34 pm
Justin Fields- No do not want.haji81872 wrote Tue Jan 23, 2024 8:08 am:Going with these as listed.

Pennix and nix same age. But I agree with the injuries to pennix.Willmark wrote Tue Jan 23, 2024 12:34 pm:Justin Fields- No do not want.
Bo Nix- Yes, IMO this is who we should draft.
Michael Pennix- Age and serious injury concerns
JJ McCarthy- maybe
Jacoby Brissett- no
Gardner Minshew- maybe
Joe Flacco- nope
Mason Rudolph- nope
Jameis Winston- not unless we want to set the franchise record for INTs
Sam Darnold- nope
Ryan Tannehill- yes
Joshua Dobbs- maybe
Tyrod Taylor- why would we want another EJ Manuel? No thanks.
Dru Lock- no
Easton Stick- yes
Carson Wentz- no
Jake Browning- if we could work the right trade? Yes, something about him says Raiders QB

My thoughts regarding the three QB, rookies in the second tier following the top 3.Dark Horse » Tue Jan 23, 2024 1:02 pm

I'm sure I'm in the minority but I'd like to build the roster, bring in a Darnold/Lock QB to fight it out with AO ( who has thrived in his past when facing competition). After the top 3 QB's are drafted there are questions on all of them which means there will be better options than them next year if AO fails.Dark Horse » Tue Jan 23, 2024 1:18 pm
Nothing ventured nothing gained. We have some holes but we have a foundation. We need not a QB, we need THAT QB.Nor_Cal_Raider wrote Tue Jan 23, 2024 1:10 pm:I'm sure I'm in the minority but I'd like to build the roster, bring in a Darnold/Lock QB to fight it out with AO ( who has thrived in his past when facing competition). He's a FA, but he's an ERFA so the Bengals can give him an ERFA tender at minimum contract level and he's theirs. I understand how people could assume he's available because he's technically a FA.signal wrote Tue Jan 23, 2024 12:18 pm:My bad. I saw him on the list and assumed he was available.

If we miss out on any of the top guys this year would Spencer Rattler be an option on Day 2 he is inconsistent as shit but has shown flashes of potential to beSnakeEyes12 » Tue Jan 23, 2024 1:34 pm

That's not really a fight. Neither of those guys should be on an NFL roster.Nor_Cal_Raider wrote Tue Jan 23, 2024 1:10 pm:I'm sure I'm in the minority but I'd like to build the roster, bring in a Darnold/Lock QB to fight it out with AO ( who has thrived in his past when facing competition). I wouldn't touch any of these QBs with a barge pole. We have two QBs that right now are better than any of them.
