Yes. We also have Koonce, Spillane, Deablo, Moehrig, Epps and Hobbs entering into the final year of their deals in 2024. Extensions are very likely to eat up a chunk of that cap space, but we definitely have the ability to make signings or take advantage of trade opportunities to upgrade the roster.Jeevo wrote Sun Apr 28, 2024 11:11 am:https://twitter.com/tashanreed/status/1 ... 32325?s=46
Is this correct?

I don’t think he’ll re-sign Deablo and Epps. In fact, their replacements were just drafted, if they pan out of course.Hellbound » Sun Apr 28, 2024 3:54 pm
Yep I noticed there was a bit of emphasis on special teams with a few of the guys draftedRaidernation1979 wrote Sun Apr 28, 2024 9:47 am:We did just draft one with a few KR TDs

Deablo was a beast last year when healthy. I would consider an incentive based two year deal.BoJacksonRules wrote Sun Apr 28, 2024 2:06 pm:I don’t think he’ll re-sign Deablo and Epps. In fact, their replacements were just drafted, if they pan out of course.

I’m Body_by_bobby on instagram I do sometimes get some inside info but haven’t heard anything about this draft. If I hear anything I’ll make sure to post it but remember they did erase a lot of my stuff because they want u guys to pay for the PREMIUM membership they don’t want me saying anything.

The interesting thing is that the Raiders are like 13th in available cap space right now. If they don't spend another dime other than for the rookies that are already accounted for, they shoot up to 3rd, maybe even 2nd with the cap they gain from the post June 1st cut of Jimmy G.Dark Horse » Sun Apr 28, 2024 5:32 pm

I think they make you wait a day, so it would be June 2nd that their cap space would double and then some.
I posted it another thread. The most likely position they attack I believe will be defensive back when they dip back into free agency. They don't want to move Hobbs from the nickel position. They have either talked to or have been connected with Xavien Howard. Adoree Jackson name has been floated out a bit and I wouldn't rule out interest in JC Jackson. TT signed him with the Chargers and Graham coached him in NE, I believe.
But I also think the temptation for Justin Simmons is going to be there for the Raiders the longer he is out there and still available.

That's what I'm thinking. Deablo was great last year...JTRaider wrote Sun Apr 28, 2024 5:09 pm:Deablo was a beast last year when healthy. I would consider an incentive based two year deal.

I think I’d like to keep all those guys minus Epps. I’d expect Koonce, Hobbs, and Spillane to be the priorities. Seems like safeties aren’t as valued anymore.vtraider » Mon Apr 29, 2024 4:27 am

Yes, I second that. I think Spillane has become a pivotal piece of the D...both on and off the field. And do think Koonce's developmental curve suggests it might be best to sign him early since he will only get more expensive with time.rich72 wrote Sun Apr 28, 2024 5:57 pm: Splillane and Koonce need to be extended pronto.

Tommy E won’t be taking Diablos place, he’s not mobile enough. He’ll be Spillane back up and potential replacement.RI RAIDER » Mon Apr 29, 2024 7:16 am
I think we need to resign all of them except maybe Epps. I like Epps and appreciate that he allowed Moehrig to go back to FS (he was horrible at SS). There may be better alternatives so with him it is really about price point as I think he can be replaced. Hopefully Moehrig plays better in the red zone this season (it seemed like he was toast). Deablo had a VERY good year after coming off an injury the year before. I think he takes another step up this season (this years Koonce) especially with the help up front. I think the rest of the guys are must haves. Hobbs is elite in the slot (which has become more important in todays game) and we need to keep him there (which is why we need more CB help). Koonce (becoming a BEAST) is one of our top young players and Spillance played incredible and is a supposed locker room leader.chucker wrote Sun Apr 28, 2024 11:19 am:Yes.
