Exactly the Peters situationDark Horse wrote Fri May 03, 2024 5:50 am: I'm saying it can help or hurt depending on the player and the fit. People really act like "signing a vet" is some sort of elixir.

Oh man, say it again! So glad Gruden is gone in that regard.chucker wrote Fri May 03, 2024 6:14 am:There's nothing wrong with signing a vet to provide a floor for performance when your young guys haven't yet proven themselves. The problem is that if the staff won't allow it to be a competition and put an older guy on the field based on respect and reputation when it's time for a young guy to play.
The most likely guy to step up and be ready to go this year is Bennett, and I'm not counting him out. Hopefully he's been working hard in the offseason. I don't think Facyson is too bad either, but he's injured a lot so it's hard to call him a reliable option.

I think some were thinking the Gillmore situation. He had a very good season last year and is lightyears better than Peters (and most of our CB's).Hellbound wrote Fri May 03, 2024 11:38 am:Exactly the Peters situation

That would be huge. Bennett taking a step forward combined with a dynamic pass rush equals success. If things go as good as it looks on paper, our CB's will enjoy the diminished time they will need to be in coverage and some of the cherries (chances of getting a pick) that comes with it.16 to 88 wrote Fri May 03, 2024 8:32 pm:Oh yeah, be great if Bennett make big strides this year...

Would this by definition be camp legsBoJacksonRules » Mon May 06, 2024 10:15 am
This a great value signing. We needed a WR that can take the top off, this dude is fastBoKnows81 » Mon May 06, 2024 11:00 am
Fast but stinks. Nobody scared of Jalen Guyton. All these bums are not worth signing if they are gonna take snaps away from Tre Tucker.BoJacksonRules wrote Mon May 06, 2024 10:15 am:This a great value signing. We needed a WR that can take the top off, this dude is fast

One thing makes me wonder about tuckers future with the team. And that's the fact that every receiver we have brought in have been speed guys that are all in the over 6ft rangeBoKnows81 wrote Mon May 06, 2024 11:00 am:Fast but stinks. Maybe just fishing a little depending on Adam's status next year. As you mentioned, I believe his cap hit next year needs rewritten if he stays.chucker wrote Mon May 06, 2024 11:05 am:I think Tucker is the clear WR3. Gallup and Guyton are likely just expected to be depth unless they step up bigger than expected.

Nothing wrong with camp competition. Maybe they both make the roster, maybe only one, and maybe none. If the dude sucks, he’ll be cut, no big deal.BoKnows81 wrote Mon May 06, 2024 11:00 am:Fast but stinks. Nobody scared of Jalen Guyton.
