I really don't think that's a big factor. He isn't going to rush things.BoKnows81 wrote Sat Apr 27, 2024 6:15 am:I think you're right. Especially since this regime didn't draft Munford. Maybe they want their own guy to step in and win RT. I'm good with it either way. The selection of JPJ helps us out with versatility.

Maybe, but I'd rather not shoot for depth in the 3rd Round. There were potential starters there for us when he was picked.Dark Horse wrote Sat Apr 27, 2024 6:38 am:I really don't think that's a big factor. He isn't going to rush things.
We needed OT depth in a big way. Glaze is only 21 and Munford is only 24 with starts under his belt. He's gonna see where it all goes. Munford is likely to get a second contract, here or elsewhere.

Improvement? Yep. I have always been an advocate of too many O linemen as opposed to too few. Next to QB, they are the most important players on the team... IMO.MaulerRaiderz wrote Sat Apr 27, 2024 6:32 am:LT Kolton Miller/Munford

You don't see improvement margin on our Oline?

...our o-line got more stout, and nastier, from what I see, in addition to having added immediate depth...The Condor » Sat Apr 27, 2024 6:56 am
I want dominant lines and quality depth. He wouldn't be my first choice, but if he was highest graded I would take him. (same for Beebe in the 3rd if there).Dark Horse wrote Sat Apr 27, 2024 5:49 am:WTH would we draft another OG?

He is a POTENTIAL starter. No one was going to waltz in from the 3rd round and start on this team. Plus, a swing tackle is more than just depth. Swing tackles get playing time and some starts.BoKnows81 wrote Sat Apr 27, 2024 6:40 am:Maybe, but I'd rather not shoot for depth in the 3rd Round. Over CB or RB? Can't do it.The Condor wrote Sat Apr 27, 2024 6:56 am:I want dominant lines and quality depth. He wouldn't be my first choice, but if he was highest graded I would take him. (same for Beebe in the 3rd if there).
I'm not a huge fan of James and the structure of his contract indicates the FO aren't completely sold either. JPJ could replace him in a year or so and could be a big upgrade. I don't care about the cute phone call, this is the NFL..
Parham has been bang average, as his PFF grade of 60 shows. We should always be open to opportunities to upgrade at every position. Whitehair was dogshit last year, and we have little else aside from a couple of PS level UDFA's.
We don't "need" another DT, but I would take Leonard Taylor III if BPA for the same reason.
Dark Horse » Sat Apr 27, 2024 7:03 am
Meredith could push off Whitehair. He is younger version if him.Dr Death wrote Sat Apr 27, 2024 6:41 am:Improvement? Yep. I have always been an advocate of too many O linemen as opposed to too few. Next to QB, they are the most important players on the team... IMO.

Oh, I'd prefer most of those I listed (and Benson in the 3rd would have been another home run), but if all of these were gone I would if BPA.Dark Horse wrote Sat Apr 27, 2024 7:00 am:Over CB or RB? Can't do it.

If Parham is still in the starting equation, we do need another guard. I am not hating on him and I appreciate his versatility, but he is only a break glass type of player and should not be starting. We could use some secondary help and I think Wright is a great fit (home run hitter that can take it to the house and who would fit like a glove).MaulerRaiderz wrote Sat Apr 27, 2024 6:32 am:LT Kolton Miller/Munford

Yeah we should always be looking to upgrade from average. He'd be excellent depth tho'RI RAIDER wrote Sat Apr 27, 2024 7:18 am:If Parham is still in the starting equation, we do need another guard. New to the board. With the Glaze pick it is possible he becomes the swing tackle with Mumford at right tackle. Mumford played better at left tackle last year and may be waiting in the wings to replace Miller and Glazer if ready would step into the right tackle spot. Just a look to the future possibly.RaiderFan1 » Sat Apr 27, 2024 7:36 am
If only we still had Mayock picking in the later rounds…
