First, lemme say. I don’t dislike him as a prospect, I actually like him some. He’s just not on the level you’re making him out to be. To me, he hasn’t reached Burrows, C.Williams, or even Daniels or B.Young tiers, to name a few. Not “yet”.haji81872 wrote Wed May 01, 2024 1:48 pm:I watched every game they played last year and if he had any line at all you could have reversed their record. He was sacked 52 times and it wasn't because he held on to the ball too long. He was running for his life. There was no time for him to go through progressions and like many college QB's he wasn't really asked to do a lot of that. Take the Arizona game for example, though. On his touchdown pass to put them up against Arizona he went to his third read, because he actually had time. I have to disagree. I think he does a good job of going through his progressions and keeping his eyes down field rather than on the chaos around him. No one had a worse line than Colorado last season.
After the snap I also feel he does a good job reading what is in front of him. People talk about off platform throws, he does that with great skill. He can make every throw. He also uses his eyes well to manipulate DB's. He did this a number of times in the Stanford game.
The thing I like most about him is how well he takes care of the ball. Despite running for his life he rarely forces a pass. 430 passes and only 3 interceptions last season. Lost two fumbles.
He is accurate. He hit 70 percent of his passes even though he had his receivers drop the ball over 20 times. Whether inside the pocket or on the move he is consistently accurate. He has poise and will stay in the pocket vs. scrambling a lot, although he has a tendency to float around and could get rid of the ball rather than take some of the sacks he took last season, but that is because so much was on his shoulders to make plays.
Built better than Daniels, an inch taller than Williams. So he has decent size.

Draftbuzz has Preston Stone as early QB5, above Dart and Ward. Anybody watched him play?Amish Cabal » Thu May 02, 2024 5:28 am
I'm encouraged by the fact we went 3-1 vs the division after AP took over. I'm with you though... can they expand on the good from last year, or will we be disappointed again? I think this team has a lot of talent, I'm counting on Getsy in particular to get this offense going. I'll be paying close attention to the play calling.Attyla wrote Wed May 01, 2024 12:09 pm:To be honest, our current team is such a question mark. If the QB who gets the job balls out with our weapons/line improvements, we could be seeing a legit playoff team. Defense was good last year but will it continue? Hard to tell but if they do, again, playoffs? It all hinges on Pierce getting the guys going. And that starts with the position coaches/coordinators. I like the staff he put together.
But honestly, although his is creating an identity, I have no idea what this team is. Until I know that, it is hard to really discuss 2025 drafting other than to discuss potential guys who declare let alone where they are going to slot. Other than the big names, I have no idea. Coach Sanders had what can only be viewed as a disappointing season given all the hype surrounding his first year. His son did play well, and I respectfully disagree with MH in that I thought he actually went through his progressions fairly well, and he did seem to process his opportunities very well. But I watched the Buffs simply because of curiosity about what Deion brought to the bigger stage.

Good lord, I hate Deion Sanders. Never liked him. I am not that invested in his son.Dark Horse » Thu May 02, 2024 8:40 am
Do you mean Sanders?RaiderFan1 wrote Wed May 01, 2024 6:44 am:Who’s The comp for Saunders coming out of college ? Is he really that good, or just the best in a shitty QB class ?

Drew Allar ay? I definitely like his size. But yeah, they've got us picking #9. Saying the Raiders will be worse than last year... I doubt that very strongly.Dark Horse wrote Wed May 08, 2024 12:09 am:Walterfootball hates our guts

Allard is Christian Hackenberger part II. Everything about him except for size is overrated.Amish Cabal wrote Wed May 08, 2024 9:55 am:Drew Allar ay? I definitely like his size. But yeah, they've got us picking #9. Saying the Raiders will be worse than last year... I doubt that very strongly.

Yep. Other than his arm, I don't think he's any good at all right nowDark Horse wrote Wed May 08, 2024 10:11 am:Allard is Christian Hackenberger part II. Everything about him except for size is overrated.

I think most sites doing mocks just use Vegas over/under or SB odds to determine 2025 draft order.Amish Cabal wrote Wed May 08, 2024 9:55 am:Drew Allar ay? I definitely like his size. But yeah, they've got us picking #9. Saying the Raiders will be worse than last year... I doubt that very strongly.

What’s everyone’s thoughts on Jalon Daniels, I’ve not watched him but listened to somebody talk about him and got me intrigued. Not sure he fits the mold that TT likes thoughDark Horse » Wed May 08, 2024 10:54 am
Can't get hyped over a 6 footer, which likely means he is 5'11"WolfRaider wrote Wed May 08, 2024 10:50 am:What’s everyone’s thoughts on Jalon Daniels, I’ve not watched him but listened to somebody talk about him and got me intrigued. Not sure he fits the mold that TT likes though

lol, tell me. Quarterbacks months before the draft are ranked as 2nd round selections then after the combine shoot up boards and are considered top 10 picks...Hellbound wrote Sun Apr 28, 2024 6:39 am:Draft time next year there could be double that or 4 completely different qbs in the top 50. We all know how rankings this far out will end up playing out. Plus there's going to be 6 less teams battling for a top qb

Cool. I know nothing about him, didn't watch a single Penn St. game. Just saw 6'5" 240 something. Big Ben size.Dark Horse wrote Wed May 08, 2024 10:11 am:Allard is Christian Hackenberger part II. Everything about him except for size is overrated.
