One thing everyone has to keep in mind when evaluating Minshew and his time with the Colts is that, he had Shane Steichen. I don't know exactly how much influence he had when it came to Minshew's play but, it's fair to think, given Steichen's diverse QB resume', that he may have been able to get a level of play out of Minshew that could prove difficult to replicate...Attyla » Thu May 02, 2024 4:40 pm
his first year starting is arguably as good or better. I think we might be fine.riseNraid09 wrote Thu May 02, 2024 4:31 pm:One thing everyone has to keep in mind when evaluating Minshew and his time with the Colts is that, he had Shane Steichen. well, it's good to know he is consistent then. now, for us Raiders, he needs to elevate...Attyla wrote Thu May 02, 2024 4:40 pm:his first year starting is arguably as good or better. I think we might be fine.

other than RB he is going to have the best weapons of his career, and his line will be about as good as he could hope for. I expect whoever starts is going to have a plethora of optionsriseNraid09 wrote Thu May 02, 2024 4:48 pm:well, it's good to know he is consistent then. now, for us Raiders, he needs to elevate...
he would be quite the Las Vegas hero if he came out and played above his perceived level for the entirety of the season. to be honest, I was kinda hoping that guy would be AOC

I don't think our RB situation is as bad as it's perceived. I think the rookie Laube will seriously threaten to earn the RB2 spot from Mattison. If he can catch, lateral quickness, real shifty...Attyla wrote Thu May 02, 2024 4:51 pm:other than RB he is going to have the best weapons of his career, and his line will be about as good as he could hope for. I don't care who starts, just want to win... however... I don't feel like we "know what Minshew brings to the table". This is a much more talented offense that what he's used to. I also think this scheme may bring out the best in him.signal wrote Thu May 02, 2024 5:40 am:Last year's stats really are not factoring into my thinking. AO4 only played half a season and did it with a rookie OC while not being prepped in any way for the job. Hell, most rookie QBs stats are not held up as a defining feature of what the player will achieve with the exception of possibly Stroud. So to compare AO4's rookie stats with a player who has been in the league for years seems to be rather unfair especially given the circumstances surrounding AO4's rookie season.
I have no idea who will start, but I do hope it is AO4 for the simple reason that we do know what Minshew brings to the table and if AO4 beats him out, then we know AO4 has taken huge steps forward in his development and that can only be a good thing for the Raiders QB situation.
That said, if I had to pick one, I do think AO4 ends up the starter in 2024.

I am not concerned about our pass catching RB situation, but our rushing RB situation is a question mark for sure.riseNraid09 wrote Thu May 02, 2024 4:58 pm:I don't think our RB situation is as bad as it's perceived. I was stating that simply as an added bonus. the dude has a low center of gravity and body mass... he will be solid on the ground, getting us those 3rd and shortsAttyla wrote Thu May 02, 2024 5:27 pm:I am not concerned about our pass catching RB situation, but our rushing RB situation is a question mark for sure.

Smart move. I like him more already. Burn, bury, unearth it in 100 years, and shoot it into space. That #4 is dead.

Switching to 12 is a power move. That's a special number for QBs.riseNraid09 » Thu May 02, 2024 6:27 pm
Has Tom Brady been hanging around? perhaps he left quite the impression on AOC
