He had the big leg but he wasn't really that good, he's not top 50 all time fg% (Carlson is currently 5). Just too early to take a K.Rabid Raider wrote Mon Apr 29, 2024 12:23 pm:Everyone likes to piss on Seabass, but when you draft a kicker who at that time was considered one of our greatest needs on the team and then plays 16 seasons and may end up in the Hall of Fame a bad pick? He was drafted in the 20s (Al actually traded up past St Louis) where many players don't finish their first contract.
He was considered generational talent for his position at that time.

And the rest of the league caught up super quick. Now it seems almost all teams have a great powerful and accurate kicker. It's like 50 is dime a dozen.Jeevo wrote Mon Apr 29, 2024 12:52 pm:He had the big leg

An oversight that must be fixed. They are one of the top three.SuperRaider wrote Sun Apr 28, 2024 11:31 pm:What about 1971…Jack Tatum 1st and Villapiano 2nd has to be one of the best….

Dudley/ Porter?RunOverByHubbard » Mon Apr 29, 2024 2:36 pm
Not a top ten (or maybe enen top 20) duo. Dudley looked the part -- one of the most athletic looking players I have ever seen. But, he had bad hands and was not a great blocker. Porter was a decent receiver but never a Pro Bowl type player.raiderboyron wrote Mon Apr 29, 2024 2:03 pm:Dudley/ Porter?

Brown / McDaniel both FIRST round.haji81872 wrote Mon Apr 29, 2024 3:39 pm:Tim Brown and Terry McDaniel in 1988?
Anthony Smith and Aaron Wallace in 1990?
Charles Woodson and Mo Collins in 1998? Mo Couldn't stay healthy for an entire year, but he was good when he was out there.
I would put a couple of those on the list before Janikowski/Porter or Dudley/Johnstone.

1 Art Thoms DL Syracuse
2 George Buehler OL Stanford
1973
1 Ray Guy K Southern Mississippi
2 Monte Johnson LB Nebraska
Looking at the Raiders draft history from the late 80's on is depressing as hell.
