Character and wanting to extend the gravy train as long as possible.Jeevo wrote Mon May 06, 2024 7:47 am:Some guys get it and some don’t. Jenkins can see the end approaching and he’s putting in the required effort to keep his spot as long as he can. Shows character.

They do but it’s 1 1/2 fields of turf. I can see them wanting to be outside on natural grass as much as possible for campAmish Cabal wrote Mon May 06, 2024 7:13 am:Not really on topic, but there's an article saying the Raiders want to practice in Cost Mesa. The article never states why, but I'm curious. The heat? Don't they have an indoor facility in Vegas?

Absolutely, but I’m always surprised how many athletes still don’t put in the necessary work at that point in their careers.RI RAIDER wrote Mon May 06, 2024 7:59 am:Character and wanting to extend the gravy train as long as possible.

Costa Mesa is just inland from Newport Beach so it has a very temperate climate, like high's in the 70's and 80's with an ocean breeze to cool it off. Better place to work out hard if you ask me. The Raiders used to do training in Ventura County in a similar climate. And as teh story states there are a few teams practicing down in that area. The Raiders used to scrimmage the Cowboys then (they are in Oxnard, near Ventura.).Xramfan » Mon May 06, 2024 9:31 am
My take is the purpose of training camp is to go someplace away from home, family and friends and focus for approx 2 weeks. Maybe I'm way offAmish Cabal wrote Mon May 06, 2024 7:13 am:Not really on topic, but there's an article saying the Raiders want to practice in Cost Mesa. Yeah I was just curious. Spent all that money on facilities everyone raves about, then, "...nah we gonna pratice over THERE." Yes it helps with focus and also helps with team building, as the team spends all their time together instead of going their separate ways after practice. That's a big deal in camp when there are so many guys who haven't been on a team together before.Xramfan wrote Mon May 06, 2024 9:31 am:My take is the purpose of training camp is to go someplace away from home, family and friends and focus for approx 2 weeks. teams go back and forth with the idea of playing in facilities near their home stadiums vs getting away from it all and allowing the team to build/bond together in an unfamiliar environment. training camp isn't the same at 'home facility'Amish Cabal wrote Mon May 06, 2024 7:13 am:Not really on topic, but there's an article saying the Raiders want to practice in Cost Mesa. cheap land [relatively] but smack in the middle of the metroplex...used to be a los angeles times facilityOrdos wrote Mon May 06, 2024 12:59 pm:Sweet! That's nearby to me, might be able to score some tickets to watch.
Side note, that training facility that the Chargers used is really odd... situated in a business park, right next to IKEA. Never understood why it's there.
Also, that one fellow will be nearby too, as the Saints are training just down the road, about 15 minutes away.
