some of you guys are brutal on Carr, a middle of the pack kinda guy is always going to have some great moments and some stinkers. We have been bereft of a great QB so long that a few guys around here elevated him above middle of the road guy and when he came up short he got killed. He is no where near as bad as some are saying and no where near as good as some had hoped.Willmark » Mon Dec 06, 2021 11:13 am
Can’t see him in the cold in Denver and the NYC media would eat him alive.Aqua wrote Mon Dec 06, 2021 9:40 am:I think Denver , Seattle, the Jets, Carolina and a few other teams would probably be willing to give a 2nd round draft pick to the Raiders for Carr.

Yup, totally agree. The only thing I’d add is that the things he’s great at don’t matter as much as the things he is deficient in, at least IMO. For example, he has great arm talent. But that doesn’t matter as much as situational awareness, which he’s only OK at.Attyla wrote Mon Dec 06, 2021 11:04 am:some of you guys are brutal on Carr, a middle of the pack kinda guy is always going to have some great moments and some stinkers. Not only that but he has such an inflated ego about how great he is. So do his brothers David & Darren. I also don't think he would retire. That's why he's so anxious to get an extension from the Raiders. I hope from Mark to Mayock they aren't that stupid. Let him play out his last year 2022. No reason in the World to extend him. I hope he's traded. He won't retire. Call his bluff...Aqua wrote Mon Dec 06, 2021 10:32 am:I think near the top of Carr's priority list is making money for himself and his family. Even if another team is willing to offer him a one year contract at relatively low money my guess is that he would take it.

When I was younger and played tennis recreationally I would absolutely smoke the ball with top spin while warming up or just rallying. Same with serves......I had a crushing serve that was difficult to return. However when it came to the actual match, I reverted to playing safe and playing lollipop ball both with returns and serves. No matter how much I told myself to let it rip, I would revert to the safe play.Raiders Baby wrote Mon Dec 06, 2021 11:25 am:Yup, totally agree. I don’t post as much as some others around here, but I think it’s pretty well-documented that I am ready to move on from Carr. But it won’t be with the same joy as some others will have— I don’t hate Carr, it just sucks that he never really reached what some (including myself at one time) thought his potential could be

The 21 throws include the 9 behind the LOS. 21 of 38 throws were dump offs. He’s not even that. No QB with his starting experience should be this timid.Jeremyturner1976 wrote Mon Dec 06, 2021 11:49 am:Trying to achieve balance I see. As all things should be.
Jokes aside, you are 100% correct. He is a mid level QB, it is what it is.

Do you all think he is feeling the outs? The last 2 pressers he hasn't being wearing Silver and Black. I'm wondering if the pressure is getting to him because he knows his time is ending. It would be a very hard to pill to swallow, his legacy isn't going to be good just like his brothers, the Carr family has no wheels.raiders1988xyz » Mon Dec 06, 2021 11:59 am

Counted NINE throws BEHIND the LOS. That’s inexcusable, especially coming from a QB who’s been starting for eight years. Then there’s 21 throws that travelled FIVE or less yards. Can’t have that coming from your QB and expect a win.

We know he can play when he wants to. Once he's shut down tho, he's below middle of the pack. This is where the disrespect stems. If we could have "1st 5 games" Carr all season, I (admittedly one of his biggest haters) would be singing his praises. Unfortunately, he's weak in the head on top of inconsistent. Plays like shit when we know damn well he could do better with a few drops of fortitude, which he simply doesn't have. His great games vs bad games make him "middle of the pack", but his bad games always come when we need leadership from his position the most. So really, not much difference between him and bottom of the fucking barrel then, is there? We reach the same destination.Attyla wrote Mon Dec 06, 2021 11:04 am:some of you guys are brutal on Carr, a middle of the pack kinda guy is always going to have some great moments and some stinkers. Its too late for that, I dont even want redemption to be an option anymore at this point.NoClapsPlease wrote Mon Dec 06, 2021 10:13 am:I think most of us wouldn’t be so down on Carr, if Carr would just play a lil more “hero-ball” when we need it
Too robotic and by the book at times when a play is needed. He needs to know when to turn it the fuck on
If he would just do that, we would all stfu.

not balance per se, but the realization that he is a product of the systems he has been in. I honestly do not think there are but 12 guys ahead of him, and another 6 who are on par with him from a skill point of view. I just think Derek makes far worse decisions than a lot of his peersJeremyturner1976 wrote Mon Dec 06, 2021 11:49 am:Trying to achieve balance I see. As all things should be.
