I believe Derek Carr's skill level is that of a $2 million per year veteran back up QB.CWood24 wrote Mon Nov 28, 2022 9:09 pm:At 20m with his play we’d be happy to keep him around but at 40m he is a dead weight

His value is basically whatever Andy Dalton is getting paid.Archaic wrote Tue Nov 29, 2022 6:22 pm:I believe Derek Carr's skill level is that of a $2 million per year veteran back up QB.

You mean he didn't start crying while throwing other teammates under the bus. Go figure.Atlasffa wrote Tue Nov 29, 2022 5:34 pm:Metal toughness is more difficult to achieve and measure than physical prowess, but you know it when you see and hear it. I also heard him today on one of sports show saying he would rather play losing football than not play football at all. My guess is he was answering the unspoken question of whether or not he regrets playing this year.

I don’t hate Carr and I think he is decent. There are many worse QBs playing in today’s game.Attyla » Wed Nov 30, 2022 5:17 am
over the cap has him 9th highest in cap number and 5th in dollars in 2023. In 2024 that cap hit is 5th and his dollars are third overall. That is more money than Josh and Patrick. Good gig if you can get it.HesterLayes wrote Wed Nov 30, 2022 5:07 am:I don’t hate Carr and I think he is decent. There are many worse QBs playing in today’s game.
My issue is how much he gets paid compared to his production.40 mil next year is absurd. You can get the same or close to the same production from a rook at a fraction of the cost. That’s the issue with Carr.

What’s the best way to feel frustratingly close to having a franchise QB without actually having one?rich72 wrote Thu Nov 24, 2022 2:25 am: If Carr is the answer what was the question?

He's a self-absorbed baby and always has been. ANYTHING but a leader. An anti-Raider. Not sure who's the bigger shit stain on this franchise, him or Markie.HesterLayes wrote Wed Nov 30, 2022 5:07 am:I don’t hate Carr and I think he is decent. There are many worse QBs playing in today’s game.

I’m all about going young at QB in 23,but I have to admit getting Brady in here for a year with these weapons would be sweet.I think he would demand we fix our pass d however.Amish Cabal wrote Wed Nov 30, 2022 7:27 am:He's a self-absorbed baby and always has been. I don't hate him either, his fans are annoying though. He's a decent QB, who will flash elite skills and then play like the worst QB in the league the next game.HesterLayes wrote Wed Nov 30, 2022 5:07 am:I don’t hate Carr and I think he is decent. There are many worse QBs playing in today’s game.

And when he does play like crap his fans either crawl back under their rock or blame any and everyone other than Carr for his performance…June510 wrote Wed Nov 30, 2022 8:32 am:I don't hate him either, his fans are annoying though. Carr Cap Hit by year:352Raider » Wed Nov 30, 2022 9:42 am
Please do the math on the following sentence from your link https://www.spotrac.com/nfl/las-vegas-r ... e%20Clause :kramNAVILLUS wrote Wed Nov 30, 2022 9:01 am:Carr Cap Hit by year:
2022: $19.375M
2023: $34.875M (dead cap $5.625M)
2024: $43.875M (dead cap $3.750M)
2025: $43.175M (dead cap $1.875M)
Don't see a $40M+ cap hit until 2024 with minimal dead cap starting 2023 - that was the point of the extension. Reading comprehension was mentioned earlier in this thread. Maybe some research is needed prior to posting as well. Here are several links that can help with that.
