I don’t think it changes their draft plans on the QB front.Sold My Soul wrote Mon Apr 22, 2024 6:42 pm:Brilliant move by the Donks. They are getting him for a song and dance, plus the yets are paying a large chunk of his salary.
Does perhaps change the trajectory of the draft.......

Same here, don't see this changing things one bit for them...Jeevo wrote Mon Apr 22, 2024 8:18 pm:I don’t think it changes their draft plans on the QB front.

It may change to the extent they no longer feel the need to trade up for a QB and are now more accepting to seeing who falls to 12.Jeevo wrote Mon Apr 22, 2024 8:18 pm:I don’t think it changes their draft plans on the QB front.

Might, but I have serious reservations about that. Lot of hungry quarterback teams above and below them that have immediate need or would want to sit them on the bench for a year or two that might have both Nix and Penix on their boards as first round talent.RickRyb wrote Mon Apr 22, 2024 10:43 pm:It may change to the extent they no longer feel the need to trade up for a QB and are now more accepting to seeing who falls to 12.

A study was done and WR and safeties were the two positions that were most whiffed at in round one of drafts.Jeevo wrote Wed Apr 24, 2024 10:06 am:Wideouts really, really getting paid huge.

Divas? Not exactly scientific. I wonder what the study would say about 1st WRs in the last 5 years? WR had become an essential position in a passing league.signal wrote Wed Apr 24, 2024 10:10 am:A study was done and WR and safeties were the two positions that were most whiffed at in round one of drafts.
Not sure that is a factor, but if you find a damn good one who is not a diva...well, you got something special. Not sure exactly why, but I do find that the position is more prone to produce divas than any other.

No, sorry, the study had nothing to do with divas...that was simply an added commentary I brought to the table. The study simply examined hit and miss on every first round pick and then ranked the positions accordingly. There were no discussions about divas. OL was that position which teams percentage of hit rate was the highest.Dark Horse wrote Wed Apr 24, 2024 10:17 am:Divas? Not exactly scientific. I wasn't misled by it, I am referring the hit or mis outcome of the study and wondering what the time frame was and whether isn't trended up in recent year.signal wrote Wed Apr 24, 2024 10:23 am:No, sorry, the study had nothing to do with divas...that was simply an added commentary I brought to the table. Sorry, I misled you there. The diva thing is just something I brought into it.
And the study had nothing to do with the importance of this or that position. Simply hit and miss in the first round given the position.
That said, I stand by my comment, that if you find a very good WR who is not a diva....you do your best to extend and keep that guy.

I have noticed WRs tend to be divas. I've wondered if the borderline, and even full blown narcissism makes them better ... if a ball is in the air, it belongs to ME ME ME!!! A lot of individual sports produce some pretty arrogant divas and I think that attitude helps when you're out there by yourself with nobody else to hinder, or help you. WRs are kind of the same, they're part of the team but they're kind of alone out there playing a one on one, or two or even three I guess, game. In any case, there have been a lot of truly great divas at the position and that fact alone wouldn't stop me from taking one.Amish Cabal wrote Wed Apr 24, 2024 11:12 am:I have noticed WRs tend to be divas.
